Yes, it is within 1km ... but if you sell your place before the registration and move outside 2km, you will need to ballot.Hi QMS
We currently staying at Tampines St 83. I hope its within 1 km. Cos we planning to sell off our own place.
When do STHilda requires PV? a yr before application?
When is your child registration for P1? -

If you intend to do PV and your distance is within 1km, I would suggest St Hilda's. St Hilda's standard is definitely higher than other neighbourhood schools, even for their so call normal stream classes. In fact some students in the normal stream classes outperform the GEP classes. They do offer HMT for students who are good in MT. Most parents choose St Hilda's not becos of GEP, but becos of the higher standard, the values the school teaches and the well rounded program.
Thanks titank. I think you and I think the same. guarantee HMT.. But really would like to hear from mommies who have different views from mine. Why would you still prefer St. Hilda esp if you know your child may not get into GEP.titank:
Just my 1 cents worth where I think it is better to go Poi Ching. As it is a SAP School where majority of the students would take HMT? :? Correct me if I'm wrong.
By past balloting history, the chance to get into Poi Ching is higher than St Hilda's. St Hilda's have Grassroot, Church affilations which this number are really unknown! -

If child is strong in MT, he will have an edge when in Poi Ching. Afterall SAP school has higher std in Chinese. Can anyone advise if you would choose Poi Ching or Maha Bodhi if distance is not an issue ?
Child is strong in MT. :? -
Thought Maha Bodhi also a SAP school ?

Can't comment for Poi Ching. MBS is a SAP school and very strong in MT. Putting distance aside, it's not easy to get into the school unless you are ex-students or member of SBF. They don't accept PV,etc... Also, if you fall under phase 2B or 2C, those within 1km will still stand a better chance. -
Hi,
Has anyone here been through an interview with SHPS to become a PV? What do they ask during the interview? Would appreciate your advice. Thanks. -
Hi angel 64,
Since you've completed the PV in Poi Ching, don't mind if i ask you some questions...
i juz called up Poi Ching and they told me they only limit 30 seats for PV for 2012 reg and min to complete 60 hours. How many hours did you spent? Do you know how do they qualified PV? If I put my occupation as housewife, how would it affect my chance?
The staff told me that normally there's no balloting for PV, did they tell you this as well? I am staying within 1-2km from Poi Ching, St. Hilda and Gongshang, have been to the later 2 schools to find out the PV both school told me even PV might need to go for ballot.angel64:
Hi All,
I am staying in the P Ris and I have done my PV at Poi Ching. Just curious how many parents here are PV parents for 2010 registration ?
Am curious how many PV parents is the school taking in for 2010 registration?
I am not too sure will the school further reduce the P1 intake by another 30 preparing for the single session.
Any idea ???
Pls share your thought. -
Anyone got back the recent sheng ji guan ? Do you expect the kid to get full marks for every test ? What is the acceptable benchmark ? Heard most kids get full marks ?
