Not anchor green which already established.strange this year agps din fill up after phase 2c? Is principal one of the factor? Heard ex principal is now at north vista and their take up rate is boosting .thecraftylicious:

1) it is much nearer to my house,
2) i dont want balloting again, worried agps will ballot although mostly is 1-2km if there is.
3) Springdale principle is quite a nice lady. like her thinking of primary school education. she say primary school suppose to be fun (hope i remember correctly what she say haha)
agps din fill up this year i just think that are less children in OX year (2009). this year there are abt 60 children less within my 1km radar. As for agps current principal, i heard some feedbacks she is quite good also.
springdale only provide 240 space from start as last year it have 270. -

I notice that for several years Anchor Green Primary used to have all its seats taken up by Phase 2C. This year there are seats left over for 2C(S). Why this sudden change?
-
Savannah00:
There is no hard rule for this as you have to play by ear. Some parents prefer not to register first until they more or less can confirm securing the seat. As for me, I did register at my 1st school of choice and I went there on the last day to monitor the situation closely. I had the confirmation at around 3:30pm that there was no chance at all, so I withdrew and registered at my 2nd school of choice.
Hi galaxyraider, thanks for your reply. we r more than 2km away from backup school. The last 4 years(including this year) no balloting , even for SC more than 2 km. except one year PR need to ballot. But if ballot for nan chiau, at which point would we know that there's no chance and when is the best time should take action for second choice sch?galaxyraider:
How far are you from your backup school? If in Phase 2C the application rates to that backup school is low and the chance for your distance group to get in is high, you can go ahead and ballot in NCPS first.
In this case, maybe you should closely monitor those 2 schools, just in case your backup school is filled up in Phase 2C, leaving you scrambling for a 3rd school in Phase 2CS.
I was fortunate that I had 3 schools to choose from and I know for sure that I could secure a place at my 3rd school of choice if for some reason I couldn't get into my 2nd school of choice.
Please monitor closely and give yourself a cut off time. If you don't, you might end up like the parents in Alexandra Primary who got bumped off at the last minute. Bear in mind that it's not the school's duty to keep track the situation for you. You can't blame the school if they can't inform you in time so that you can withdraw and switch school.
Historical data is usually quite accurate. For NCPS, you might get a chance to ballot if you register in Phase 2B and you live within 1-2 km from the school, but a lot of time balloting happened for those living < 1 km. For Phase 2C, it's quite confirmed that balloting will happen for applicants living < 1 km. -
Hi! Any mummies know what is the odd of entering nan chiau primary with phrase 2B but living more than 2km away?

There was balloting for those staying 1 -2km under Phase 2B this year. And the population in Sengkang is growing as there are more and more flats. -
Hi!
Ballot for 1-2km.. if that is the case. i guess 2km and above have no chance of balloting right? :scared: -
Joni:
I would think the chance to ballot outside 2km is very slim. But I think there are less babies born in 2010 compared to 2009 too.Hi!
