on the subject of NUSH syllabus, another angle to view is to understand the AP exams ( Advanced Placement).
You can find out more from Wiki. It is an American/ Canadian system, it is suppose to gauge a student readiness for University. Students are graded 1 to five for each subject taken. 1 being not recommended for university, 2, maybe qualified, 3, qualified, 4, very qualified and 5 being extremely qualified. Some uni grant exemption for year 1 college foundation subjects if they achieve a AP score of 4 for the relevant subjects, top uni will only grant exemption for score of 5.
Most NUSH student will take Calculus AB in March/ April during year 5 and all other subjects in March /April in year 6. most of NUSH students will achieve score 5 in all subjects.
For every NUSH module, the module plan is given at the start of the module, lesson plan, the number of assignments, test, project and its scoring system are given. student has to be diligent and study/ work to guide line given, no last minute work. whenever have issue with each lesson, seek help for teachers or senior or internet.
For junior years, marks are given for your filling, how you fill your notes, assignment papers, test papers and etc.
It is also important to keep a diary for all school events, assignment due dates and test dates,
So far, I have only heard/ read 5 cases of student leaving NUSH, 1 was send back to the student home country as the student cannot cope with the workload, 1 went to RGS, 1 when to HwaChong, 1 went to Western Australia ( not sure if it Uni) and 1 went to a HK Uni.
