Hi, I'm the unlucky one as my Philipino maid went back home after 2 years and called me that she is not coming back.

Now really doubt if I really need a maid but this few days had been real busy for me as I hv 3 kids so decided to get one for another 2 more years to help out.

Could anyone know of any good maid agency to recommend? Thank you.
Hi, I'm getting my maid from http://www.besthelper.com.sg previously, fortunately the maid I got from this agency is good, And the service they provide also very good, they came to my place after my first call, sit down with me and my family to explain on the details, show us biodatas and even shortlist for us, prices are reasonable, very responsive. My maid already been with me for a while and no issue at all. But unfortunately my maid contract going to end soon and she doesn't want to continue. Definitely going to this besthelper.com.sg again. Just something to share.

Sometimes it is luck, The maids are humans. The agency can be good, find the best for u. But in the end only she start work and her attitude will show...sometimes the agency sucks too. Hit and run, no ethical responsibility...

That is why good to hv a supportive n good agency.
The worst is has an maid with attitude problem cum an agency who dun care about all these issue but just purely look for a transfer to earn more $$$.

Hi, i totally agree. you need to have a supportive and good agency. finding a good maid is by luck. but finding a good agency is not. something i use to gauge is the service. For eg, are they willing to meet u at your convenience to go thru the biodatas, do they do look thru the biodatas before giving u, the type of training the maids go thru. lastly, are they sincere in serving you.

lucky for me i found a good one on the third company i called.

        I hope this helps πŸ˜„

Good maid agency DOES NOT TRANSLATE into good maids. Good maid agency only provides good/prompt service and good advice but end of day the quality of the maids brought into Singapore is what counts. No one can guarantee another person's attitude based on interviews only. People can tell lies and maids tell lies very well. No consequences for them.

Ideally, if the agency has done a proper selection and provide adequate training, they will be able to identify the attitude and quality of the helpers before finding them a placement. They should be equipped with knowledge and skills to perform the job. If they aren't suitable, the agency will not look for a job placement for them. I always thought that's why we paid agent fee for. 🀷

There MAY still be a few agencies who will do an honest job in selecting, training and placing suitable maids. The process is not easy and takes time. Due to rigorous competition to get business, all too many agencies are cutting corners and the faster they can market and push off a maid to somebody, the more profits they will make. It all makes sense because agencies need to pay for salaries of workers, rental of premises, overheads etc...

The more people cut corners and get away with it, the more others will follow suit. This practice is infectious. I'm not only saying this of local agencies but overseas ones as well. Corruption in high places and falsification of papers are the norm in Myanmar, Vietnam, China and the Philipines.

Proud to say that Singapore is corruption free. :rahrah:

                  Hi all,

I thought this info might be useful to share. You can go to this mom website to search for employment agencies and personnel info. (https://services.mom.gov.sg/eadirectory)

Some of the info provided are years of exp. of an agency, placement volume, transfer rate, retention rate and demerit points etc.

This info is especially useful when you realized that there are so many maid agencies out there and there are names that you never come across. Just to share an experience. I was searching a maid using Netmaid and shortlisted one maid. The maid agency is totally new to me. And when I went to this website, I look at the agency info (less than 1 year) and that the personnel who is handling all the maid transaction is not a listed EA personnel. So I suspect that the person from this agency might have closed down because of too many demerit points issued by MOM and he opened another maid agency using other people's name. So for such agency, I think we better stay far away. So in short, if the personnel that you are talking to is not registered, then this agency is fishy.

I am still looking for my maid agency and maid. But at least now when I come across new agency names, I do my own check and make sure that the agency is credible.

Finding a good agency is harder than finding a good husband. πŸ˜‚

Totally agree, responsible agents are very hard to find nowadays, is like they are too busy to care about you..

Lucky for me, I found a good agent referred to me by a friend, Best Helper Pte Ltd.. Its quite a new company but the agents are really on a ball and very responsible.. I do recommend you guys to give it a try, really love their service!

Good Luck in finding a maid!

                        Hi,

my experience with maid. Have both good and bad. My first few times was really bad too until I change to this last agency.
To be frank I am very fussy, I dont let my maid to use handphone when she work, I dont like them to take too many off days. Must at least know some English and can’t be too stupid.

I tried Filippino, Indo, Myanmar maids. Last time filippino about 10 years back are easy going and easy to control. But now they expect so much, i even experience before she tell me about her human rights and must let her keep her passport.

Some agency fees are also very expensive $999, just when I thought pay high price means get better maid. Its not, sometimes is luck. Then my friend recommend me get Myanmar maid from this agency just charge $688 ex-Singapore. So far she work for me I am very satisified. I also treat her well. Starting I have to be very strict with her but she never disrespect me (testing her also). She helped me take care of my children and mother-in-law where she spend lots of time with.
One day i even realise she picked up chinese and malay from my mother-in-law. 4 years already. And she never request for many things.

Not all maids are bad maids and this experience tell me that agency fees is not a indication of quality of the maids. Depends on the agent from the agency the last one although only $688 also have replacement same as $999 and I still call her to help with renewal and she picks up my call unlike many agencies. But personally I feel myanmar maids are more respectful and hardworking, which I prefer. I hope this sharing helps for those first time employers.

The agency name is United Employment can call the office no. 62696249 or 94875994. Reasonably priced and polite agents who are Singaporeans.
