Do you mean Fuji Kawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival?
I did but it was not as fantastic as expected. The ryokan agreed to drive us there and then picked us up an hr later. It was pretty chilly and the trees were just lighted up. Many tourists walked around to take pic.
I would prefer to remain in the ryokan to be soaked in the hotspring.
Yes, summer can be very warm and wet due to the baiyu. My 1st trip to Japan was in Jun/Jul and I tasted the rainy season.
To me Hakone is too touristy and I prefer Kawaguchiko. The Kachi kachi ropeway will be nice IF the weather is nice w/o clouds.

It was last year's event but has been running for 6 years already. It in along the Chuo line between Toyko and Kawaguchiko. I will be keeping tabs whether they will do it again this year. -

Talking about illumination, I did the illumination in Bamboo forest of Saga Arashiyama. That is another nice place to visit in Kyoto. -

Now you have given me another excuse to go to Kyoto again!

Have you explore Shikoku? -
starlight1968sg:
No. But my friend went last Nov. I saw her photos. Very pretty. There was a place by the sea that looked like Greece! It seems to be the new go to place for Singaporeans. Probably because Singaporeans have all visited other parts of Japan already and are looking for new places to go. I understand that Prime travel has also starting organizing tours there. I just received their email.dnls_mum

Btw, I think my friend self drive around. -

Shikoku is probably less explored by tourists but JR trains are available in some major cities. I am thinking to explore this island during my next trip to Japan. -
I’m traveling to Fukuoka, any tips? I heard Japan is really baby friendly but and afriad my expressive and talkative baby will make a lot of noise on the train. Haha…
