Hi all ALPS parents,
My son will also be joining ALPS in 2016.
Is the orientation date confirmed? the school will notify us soon? I think the first thing I will do during the orientation is to look up for the 3 pairs of twins. All thanks to them that we can get in without balloting.
My Girl will be in 2016 P1 intake. Hi to all parents! Did i miss some news on the 3 pairs of twins? What happen to them?
did you register your girl in Phase 2C or you are from phase 1?
I register my girl in phase 1. lol
-
Ah, that explains why you are not aware of the twins. Most of us are from 2C and we were grateful to the twins because on the last day of registration, we were told that SC within 1km will go into balloting as there are 154 applicants vying for 151 vacancies. Then the following week, APS called to say, all 154 are in, no need for balloting because there are 3 pairs of twins among the 154. Each pair of twins was counted as one entity, so instead of 154 applicants, they could take that as 151 applicants.

Thanks lonerunner for the info on the administration day. Just wondering when we can start buying the uniforms and PE attire. Any idea whether we will be informed whether our application for SCC is successful on administration day?
-
School uniform - maybe buy towards Dec? Kids might outgrow the uniforms if we purchase too early

SCC - this one I'm not too sure as I didnt ask in details. Maybe you could call admin office to confirm

Hi lonerunner, thanks for your advice.

Hi lonerunner, thanks for the information :thankyou:

Student care spaces are very limited. They go through your financial status, occupation, etc to be enrolled. Food provided for student care is well balanced and looks delicious. There is a required sleeping time for the children after their lunch break. Which i totally agree that they need ample rest after half a day of learning.
Thank you Double E for the info.
Hihi JJMom15! your elder kid is from which class?
Boys' uniform pants side has 2 buttons that are adjustable. I actually bought and brought my son to the main branch at Bukit Merah Central to try on last year. There is a fitting room there. 1st half of the year he was wearing with 1 button adjustment. After June holidays he kinda grew and now he wears the pants as it is.
PE is usually twice a week. They will have PAL lessons on Wed (starts 2nd semester or 2nd half of the year... i cannot remember :P) They will be wearing PE attire. PE attire is a white top and black shorts. Tuck in.
Main uniform is blue top, grey bottom. No need tuck in.
Every Monday will have to wear tie for boys, bow ties for girls. Ties and bow ties will go along with both main attire and PE attire depending on the child's time table on Mondays.
Grey socks with ALPS logo.
And black shoes.
Name tacks are cloth embroidery type. It is to be ironed onto the uniforms both main and PE tops. It is also encourage to sew the corners for better attachment.
2014 - intake of students names' are blue in colour (they are P2 this year)
2015 - intake of students names' are red in colour (they are P1 this year)
So you can easily differentiate who are the seniors of the school!
Hope these info helps.
Welcome all to the family of ALPS. And welcome to experience the new phrase of our children learning too! -
Thanks Mabel_Chia! The details are very helpful!!
