Everyday after my kid finished his homework, I will starts my repeating words on check on your school time table, handbook on what you needs to bring to school. If not sure, check with your classmates. Every night…;( it’s works but I am very frustrated as his younger sibling will be automatically doing it without I’ve to keeps reminding him.

My older daughter was one of those, and similar to your situation, my younger one didn't need reminding. I made a list of things that need to be done daily and posted them on the wall for my daughter. Then I only needed to say \"Have you checked through the list?\" Saved me a lot of effort. Eventually it will become a habit.

That works if she makes effort to look at the list. DS can’t even be bothered! Cham!

                  Hi Snow24,

My dd has been taking ritalin for 6 years already. It helps to calm & settle her down so she can complete her schoolwork and pay attention in class. Luckily, no side effects and her appetite normal. But you need to work with the doctor and go on trial first.

Workwise, MUST SIT DOWN with her on a routine basis. I set up a daily routine for her and when she was younger, I had to coach her half-day everyday. I had to keep track of her schoolwork, pinned up schedule for spelling, get her worksheets filed, and work closely with her teachers - especially upcoming exams, class tests & projects.

Anyone has child on ADHD medication.Does the medication helps your child to remain in seat, improve the need to wait his turn, paying attention to teacher’s teaching etc?
