Would you recommend accommodation at Hakone, preferably Roykan? Or do you think a day trip is enough for Hakone?

              Thanks!
Currently Owakudani in Hakone (area to eat black volcano eggs) is out of bound.
So you might not be able to enjoy urself fully.

              See below for more info.

They have this magazine over at Liang Court Level 1, outside Starbucks.
Can take a look there. πŸ˜ƒ

Sorry, didn't see your qn earlier as I was away for a short break.
Do you know that the ropeway at Hakone is closed due to volcanic activities? Do you still want to go? If your objective is to see Mt Fuji, Kawaguchiko is an alternative. I am going in Nov, and has booked Shuhoukaku Kogetsu as it is across the lake from Mt Fuji so you see the lake and Mt Fuji at the same time. Most other accommodation have the lake on one side and mt Fuji on the other. Kawaguchiko also has the theme park, Fuj Q Highland. You can check http://www.japanican.com to view what are the various accommodation available in Hakone or Kawaguchiko. You can also search tripadvisor for travellers' feedback and review of the diff accom.
Whether to do a day trip or overnight trip is very personal. I prefer overnight trip. More relaxing and give me time to enjoy onsen. But many people do day trips too.

I am heading to Fukuoka and Kumamoto next month with my 9 month old baby. going to self drive too.

What is the best way to cook in Japan if you're staying in hotel? Any children snacks that I must get there that's really good too? πŸ•Ί I am also planning to buy a good thermal cooker in Japan for her. Those that can bring out and keep the food warm too kind. Any recommendation?

I am so looking forward to our first trip.

Her usual bedtime in SG is 7pm and I think this trip is going to mess up her sleeping schedule. Just hoping that she will sleep properly when she's there and on our midnight flight.

better not to travel with a 9 mths old baby. for sure you will not enjoy.
it is better to tavel to japan when the child ia able to speak so as to know what the child wants especially in a foreign land.

                        Hi, need some advice here.

First Time visiting Japan and my family (kids 12, 10 & 6) will arrive at Haneda airport at 940pm. is it advisable to stay for the night near the airport or are there still train or airport limousine services to bring us to hotels in Shinjuku?

                        Appreciate experienced travellers’ advice! Thanks!
