Xin Wang 新旺

I also don't think the place is that bad leh... previously when we were at Plaza Singapura every Friday nights, there was always a long queue into the place.
I have tried them a couple of times and I thought the food was ok too.
I am a dessert person, so I particularly like the rice ball with red bean paste/toppings? which is a bit more like Japanese stuff to me. -

Wah good service ks2me...which branch did you go to?Went to Xin Wang to try the tofu and the service was great!
Originally I wanted to order the wooden tub then the waitress advised it was too big for single consumption. I thought that was honest advice and good, so I took a smaller bowl just to savour what it was like. I chose the brown sugar one and I did not stir well, so towards the bottom, it became too sweet for me, otherwise it was not too bad.
Then after eating, I needed to rush off urgently but it was pouring cats and dogs so I could not get to the carpark as there was no connected walkway to enter the carpark. The waitress pleasantly surprised me by getting 2 umbrellas and accompanying me to the carpark and returned back to the shop with the umbrellas after that.
I think that was called an extra mile which was out of my expectation. :salute: to their service. -
I often go to the one at United Sq, their service is good. Food wise, it is ok though nothing to shout about. Once we ordered toast but couldn’t finish it as we were rushing for time and the service staff very politely offered to "dabao" for me. I merely casually commented that the toast is a little overdone and she immediately apologised and offered to give me another free dessert. When I declined and said that I was in a hurry, she promised to give me a free dessert on the next visit, which she did!

Yeah I find their service good at United Square too, very prompt whenever we ask for anything and they even bother to remind us to keep the extra card that comes with the membership card to claim a present on our birthday.
They also give a birthday treat as part of the member coupons if you are a member. I suppose they have alot of fine touches that makes the dining experience pleasant. -

oops, I meant the glutinous rice ball.

Yes Wang Jiao is the one.VitoRelax:
not sure what it is in chiense but in English is something Wang .... :?
It started as Wang Jiao but now rebranded as Wang Cafe. I visit the 2 branches in Suntec City which is only 1 tower apart. They are now similar in offering as ToastBox but their local food is better than ToastBox in my opinion.
Here's their success write-up:

So, who is more authentic ? Wang Jiao or Ya Kun Kaya ? -
