... Sometimes, I wonder if the time could have been better spent on the academics and πŸ™ that their academics wouldn't suffer as a result. I mean, it's not like they are going to become a musician...

how do u know they're not going to become a musicians?

if they do choose to be one? will u object?

Safe to say that they are not prodigies, otherwise I wouldn't be vomitting so much blood...
how many child prodigies do u know?

my musician friends are all not prodigies but they are musicians now.

No lah, where got ban... I only thought that you would not have much time for KSP when you are abroad...
        Nah, just joking...

But do you mean to say that at P1 and P2, the students could already join some violin classes in school?
Apparently so. But my friend isn't very sure if these are paying classes or considered as CCA. When your girl starts P1 next year, try approaching the violin teachers and explore with them the possibilities for her.

        Good luck! πŸ˜„

          Will do! :thankyou:

By the way, do you worry if your kids would be able to settle back into our system when they come back?

Of course, I am a little worried. But I suppose if I'm continue to coach/homeschool them on local curriculum, they should be alright in their academics. But adapting to the pressure cooker system is another matter... can only hope for the best... πŸ™

No wonder you were talking about homeschooling. Your kids are bright - they'll do just fine. Wishing you all my best. :grphug:

Not full time homeschool as they will be attending the local school. We'll do enough to catch up with the Singapore curriculum. πŸ˜„

That I agree wholeheartedly. Both are very cheerful kids with happy thoughts. They really brighten up my life. πŸ‘…

My boy shows a very keen inclination for songs, music, and dance. He loves swaying, swinging his feet and even tapping his fingers to rhythm sometimes. Is there any sort of musical training that one can do at home to help improve his sense of rhythm and musicality, recognising different sounds by different musical instruments, before sending him to try musical instrument classes when he’s older? what age can we get him to expose him to formal music classes?

any one has any feedback on musikbox at turf city?

This KS mom here has already taught my 1yo the different note values & rhythm patterns (crochet, quavers, semiquavers, ), and the basic symbols & terms. 😜 He actually loves all these very much, esp when he gets to beat the rhythms on different drums. πŸ˜‰

We go to staccato in horsecity since he was 17mos.

how did u teach your 1yo the different note values & rhythm patterns (crochet, quavers, semiquavers, ), and the basic symbols & terms? u bought an actual drum set for him to tinker around with?

i have only bought a wooden toy piano so far. looking for tambourine, castanet and a toy xylophone now…
