PSLE .. a whole new experience for me :nailbite:
:hi5: me too
But I hv no idea how to help my son further or encourage him to work harder. He is so lazy & I just can't stand it. :frustrated: -

what I have experienced may not work on my #2. I only know it's best to start p6 topics before the new school term begins...even though it's highly likely she would forget. -
Dear 2016 psle parents,
Your turn is next year....
This year end holiday is a good time to kickstart revision especially for science. Next year will be a crazy year, physically and emotionally draining. I think it is human nature to worry not because we are ks but that we worry about whether we are doing enough for our kids during this crucial milestone event.
My tiny tip will be to visit open houses of your kids preferred schools this yearend. Usually most schools will have open houses after psle results release. Get the kids hype up. Set a target. Set a few targets. Decorate and prep the study area helps in our case too.
All the best ! -
Hi jedamum
Thanks for yr tips. -
Thank you Jedamum for sharing your experiences.
P6 year is so scary for many of us. So much to do, yet so little time. CA1,SA1,CA2,SA2,PRELIMS,PSLE... all packed into 10 months. Are these what we are expecting in P6, or did I miss out any others?

Janet, what do you mean by \"wake up\"? My son is always in his lala land, even when SA2 is approaching, still watching TV and playing with his toys. People around me tell me boys are like that, playful... but give them some time, they will wake up. I wait and wait... think he is still \"sleeping\"? :?
Come on sweetie. I am still learning day by day.
My son has finally woken up...he is in sec 3....before this, I was still pulling my hair out.
My expectation for her is not in the 70 range...it would be a miracle if that happens. -
Hi,
Trust me, for those who had gone through, been through, it is still a scary moment/year for us.
Suddenly, school is piling them with lots of past-year papers and homework and there’s no time for revision at all or do any assigned work given by me. Haizzz…
Like what Janet mentioned, after this SA2, tuition as per normal as tutors want to start P6 immediately. The only break is in second week of Dec before tuition starts again after Christmas.
Double stress for me comes 2016…PSLE and A levels…aiyoh!!! Jia You to all! -

My son didn't have sa2, I think. You should look through your school's this year newsletter or diary or calendar to roughly get the dates of the weeks of such tests so that when you get the actual dates, you won't panic so much.Thank you Jedamum for sharing your experiences.

Treat every prep for ca and sa as a check point revision and knowing the results is in no way affecting the psle final score, use them to treat weak areas.
Ensure the kids get enough sleep is important too. -
For most schools Prelims is SA2.
People, please do not get yourself all wound up now. Pace yourself and your kid or you will burnout even before Prelims start.
The temptation to just drop everything right after prelims is very strong so we must reserve some energy to make sure that our kids push through until PSLE.
9-10 months from Dec to PSLE to us is a very short time to get so many things done but to the kid who is taking the exam, it is 9-10 long months of non-stop prep.
