A little bored after only one day.


We sign up for a short trip only. Nothing much to do, even my child also feels bored. Eat, sleep and watch TV most of the time. The ship is very stable which is a good thing.

yes, u will have to share with others.. mine last time 6 they addin 2 more..to make up 1 table

i guess it really depend. For me, we have a table for 4 to ourselves (2A2C).

Did anyone just came back from this cruise? Any feedback on the food and etc. I heard must wear formally especially for one night dinner. Did anyone go city tour at Langkawi? Is it worth for the city tour?

I have not been on this particular ship but have been on other ships in the RC family. I think all RC cruises have at least one formal night. If you do not wish to dress up, you can still dress down that night but you'll need to eat at the windjammer which serves buffet rather than eat at the main dining room. My experience on diff RC cruises have all been good. Never had an issue with their food. You have lots of choices and service has always been excellent esp in the main dining room.

Not sure what are the shore excursions they have in Langkawi, but we went of star cruise once and their show excursion at langkawi was not good at all. Went to the aquarium and shipping, nothing to shop. That was some years back. Langkawi now has a sky bridge and you need to take a cable car up. Beautiful view up there. So if you must do a shore excursion in Langkawi, I suggest picking one with this.

My mother don't really like western food.[/quote]Yes, I did. The food in the main doing room is always 4 course western. You get a choice of apps, main, dessert, coffee/ tea. Every night the menu changes. Whether formal or casual, or smart casual (for longer cruises), it is always western fine dining in the main dining room. The difference is in the dress code, ie what the guests are suppose to wear. On formal nights, menu could be slightly more elaborate, but still same western. For ladies, you can wear cocktail dresses for formal nights. Men normally wear jacket and tie. But I suppose long sleeve shirt and tie could do.

If your mother doesn't like western, the RC cruises could be a problem. She will probably just have to eat at the buffet restaurant. Even that is international buffet, not Asian. Maybe just a few pseudo Asian dishes. I do recall they have rice at the buffet, but not sure if it was at every meal. To have Asian food, you probably need to go star cruise. But in terms of service and standard, star cruise cannot be compared to RC.

You went to langkawi aquarium. Is it the underwater world? It has a lot of marine fish. I check from rc website that their citytour to langkawi has a few places. This is most expensive to underwater world $60plus. The package consist of going to rice padi field and handicrafts.

Yes, that's the one I went to when we went on star cruise. It is no way like our underwater word. And now, our SEA aquarium is way way better. We did not like it at all. We have been to Laman Padi too. Just ok. Nothing great. I checked the RC website, no shore excursion to the sky bridge. So if I were to pick a shore excursion, I'd do the cave and mangrove. We enjoyed our mangrove tour during our trip to Langkawi last year. Saw lots of stuff eg fiddler crabs, kites ( bird), eagles, monkeys etc. also went to a fish farm and saw horseshoe crab, fed stingray. A much better way to spend a day, in my opinion.
