S & U grades at year one promos is not end of world to require seeing a psychiatrist. May be the parents need it more than the kids. It is a known fact that the year one promo is the first wake up call that honey moon period is over and time to stop dreaming. Next wake up call is year two mid year. By then must really panic if the grades are still in the red.
Yes assurance is important and must take stock what is causing the non performance.
If need to re do year one so be it. What is one extra year in a whole life perspective ? -

That's strange. DD's JC does reveal the percentile for each subject. I think that is quite useful for the child to guage where he stands, how much extra effort he needs to put in to buck up, etc.Unlike MGS, JC they will not disclose how a student is performing compare to the cohort. There is no percentile in the score card. I will try to speak to her teacher.

First time I chanced upon this link and would like to clarify the above though it's an old post.http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/program ... ject-work/
hi
see this http://erpz.net/resources/project-work/
an example http://www.scribd.com/doc/76289881/A-Le ... ns-Example
This example would have been shot down by dd's pw teacher. :yikes:
There are 5 in a pw group.
There are a few components in PW (Project Work), namely PI (Preliminary Ideas), EoM (Evaluation of relevant print/non-print Material), I&R (Insights & Reflections) and GPP (Group Project Proposal).
GPP is a group project whereas PI, EoM and I&R are based on individual effort. Each individual PW takes up 6% of total PW.
The example sited above was a PI of a pupil. It would be vetted and approved by the PW teacher before submission to MOE so we cannot comment about it's outcome. It could be improved upon or 'shot down' by the PW teacher, as stated by zeemimi. -
Janet2014:
Innova JC is above 90% for A, as confirmed by my nephew. The PW teachers are very demanding and my nephew's individual work on EoM was rejected 3 times before the teacher was satisfied with an innovative product he finally came up with. For GPP, they had to consult various local Uni professors to comment on the proposed products before the final submission.PW results are out. Does anyone know the percentage obtain A for various JC?
RI is 89.1% -

Its barely 2 weeks before A levels start.
Wont it better to seek consultation from subject teachers now? -
For my DD in AJC year 2, I have gotten use to her results ranging from 40+ to 60+ per subj though it was a shock to me when she got such result in JC1. She received MOE award for being the top 25% in her cohort. And she was in the top 23% in her cohort this year. So it is pretty normal for getting lower marks/grades in JC. Just have to give our children continued support and encouragement. They are young adults and will study hard to acheive their goal if they know what they want.

May I know where can I find them? Thks
