Im not sure about this year, but in the past chs practice streaming by merit, which means you get your choice as long as you meet the qualifying marks.

Out of curiosity, why do you want 3 sciences?

In NJC, most students with overall pass at end of year 2 take 3 sciences , in year 3 and 4 bcos either not eligible or not keen to take advanced LA or advanced Humanities in year 3.

Ah boy is keen to take advanced Humanities, but his year 1 and 2 IH grades are not consistently A.

So might be no choice but to take 3 sciences next year.

My DS wants to choose 3 sciences. But i not so keen also.
Too many subjects to focus. Will advice him to consider properly.
          Thanks for your advice.

That's surprising. My boy's time 2 years ago, there was a meet the parents session early part of the year on the choices available. You could ask the form teacher for the relevant info. I'm sure he or she will be happy to explain.

There should be a parent briefing before mid year.

Anyway in a nutshell, you choose what subject you want. You will get it as long as you qualify for it. If not, they may grant you probation basis.

Typically - A and E maths, pure physic or chemistry or bio; pure geography, lit, history, english, higher or standard chinese, social study.

Your ds should be briefed on this. I believed they have to submit their choices online

                    Should be on 28 Nov.
Think you may need to register for the open house.
