Is there any GPA requirement for subject combi in Y5? Like need 3.6 to take certain subjects or certain number of subjects?
Not very sure. But I vaguely rem one mom told me need to get at least a gpa of 3.2 in year 4. Otherwise, the child can only take 3 H3 in year 5. I didn't verify the info though and it happened some years ago. Things may have changed. If yr son is thinking of taking RA in year 5, I believe it would be a gpa of min 3.6 and plus going through some selection tests.
Not being very helpful here. As the kids grow, they become more independent and made their own decisions. Things that they may have told us, we can no longer rem so well. Have yr son decided on the subjects combination and bought the long pants? Do not throw away the shorts though. They can still wear the shorts in year 3 if they wish to.

Question about uniforms for girls. I was hoping RGS would brief the girls, but it seems it hasn't been done. Can anyone tell me what pieces of uniform there are? I know there are blouse and skirt, and presumably PE shorts and T-shirt, but what else? Ties, badges etc? Anything similar to the RGS culottes? Is the vendor Bibi & Baba? What's the recommended no. of pieces to get? I know I have time, but we have a lot of stuff coming up and Jan will be a busy month for me, so I'd like to clear some of this \"admin\" early if possible. Thanks!
Not sure about the girls. The boys can continue to wear their old ri unform in year 5 n 6. So my son didnt buy any uniform in year 5. Only need to buy pe t shirt as the design is different. He has 2 sets of pe. I noticed that he has pe lesson twice a week. Vendor shld still be bibi & baba. -
RGS girlsβ uniforms: Vendor is Bibi Baba. Uniform is white shirt and green skirt. Need to get around four sets. As for T-shirts, that can be purchased later. They have assorted T-shirts for JC depending on your orientation group colour, ccas, etc. My girl owns many different T-shirts and of various colours as they are pretty nice and the pricing is reasonable. Shorts, FBT, can be used. No need to buy if you have already owned these.Badge needs to be purchased but tie is not needed unless thereβs an event. Can borrow blazer and tie from school when needed unless they run out.

Thanks! So it looks like I just need to get the blouses, skirts and shorts to start with. I'll leave her to deal with T-shirts and badge. So they don't need to wear the tie every week like in sec school? And they can wear any school t-shirt for PE? It's great that they are less rigid than in sec school.
About the shorts - I guess the colour should be black? Would other brands be OK if they are the same style and colour? Are there official school shorts sold in the school? -
Yeah, just get the school shirts, skirts and badge. Shorts is black in colour. Quite flexi though there is also official PE shorts. As for T-shirts, there are a few that can be used during PE lessons. No worry about that.

Thank you for the info. May I know whether Year 4 can wear shorts too? Sometimes the weather is so hot! (but at least better than hazy)ngl2010:

Yes, students can wear shorts in Year 4, its up to individual choice between long pants or shorts. Quite a few of my classmates still wear shortsPiggyLalala:

Long pants are only compulsory in JC.
Regarding subject combination in Year 5, getting GPA 3.2 and above allows you to take 4 H2, above 3.6 allows you to take 4 H2 and 1 H3, iirc. -
H3 is dependent on year 5/jc1 promo result. Year 4 gpa has no bearing
Year 4 gpa qualifies you to sit for RA qualifying tests -

Hi ngl2010..
- To take a particular subject in Yr-5, the student needs to score min GPA 2.0 for that particular subject.
- To take 4 H2 subjects in Year-5, the student needs to score overall GPA 3.2 & above.
- To take Further Math in Year-5, the student needs to score GPA 4.0 for BOTH Math 1 & Math 2.
- To take RA in a particular subject in Year-5, the student needs to be in Top 15 percentile for that particular subject, PLUS overall GPA 3.6 & above, AND pass the Selection tests.
- H3 subjects are available only in Year-6.
Did I miss out anything ?

Hi slmkhoo,
There's the blouse, skirt, PE shorts, house Ts, school badge, tie. No culottes. Vendor is bibi and baba. I think they're quite casual about the shorts; just black shorts will do. House Ts will be given out during term. School uni is worn daily. Black corporate t-shirt can be worn on Friday instead. If I remember correctly they still wear their RGS uniform at the start of school before the JAEs come in.
