blesseddad,
I am not sure about textbook, but I bought it. I think mine did use. But I suggest assessment books no need to buy. They do a lot of Maths worksheets in class. -
Bought for few years but like lovinglife said, ours still in pristine condition, totally untouched - so save the $. Just get those in the compulsory list (the activity books are used in class). Basically, anything in the optional list is really optional - we’re not getting any of that for the next academic year.

My post from a year ago....
BigDevil:
Are the Chinese character cards still on the must-buy list?
If they are, don't bother to buy them. Not used at all.
Don't bother wrapping the Maths workbooks. They normally
tear out the pages to work on, then hole-punched and filed.
For us, we are also not planning to buy the Maths textbooks
next year. Throughout DD's 5 years, and DS's 1 year in Nanyang,
the textbooks were not used at all. -
The school is releasing report book today. Class allocation and invitation letter for prize presentation are releasing same day too?

Can any parent shed some information on P2 streaming to P3…i tried to find info online but can’t find ie: GEP etc…

The invitation letters for prize presentation were given out on Friday. The P said the school is trying out a new procedure this year - they will try to announce class allocation on mconline by Nov 30. I'm curious, given that this year P4 were en-bloc from P3 (no \"real\" HA classes in P4 based on P3 results), whether most of the top 5 achievers from the 8 P4 classes will end up in HA next year. -

Right. The invitation cards were given out last Fri too. My DS told me teacher mentioned class allocation will be out next week? Anyway, we will find out tomorrow since there is ptc tomorrow for p2.lovinglife:

You will be able to find out from slides presentation on ptc as well as when it is putting up in mconline. -

If it's the same as last year, p2 -> p3 will be split into two groups HA n MA.
The top 160 pupils are placed into 4 HA classes based on S-formation.
The remaining students are then also put into the MA classes with the same formula.
This is to ensure that there's no best or worst HA or MA class. -
Hi Zappy
Thanks for the insights. Understand HA probably studies higher ability work? In this case, HA and MA also go thru the same PSLE route/paper? Able to share the main differences? Will school also focus on MA students?
