Do you happen to know how the P4s are banded for P5 next year?

Some of my daughter’s friends have been selected for the intermingling class in P5 next year. Any idea what the criteria are?

          Psle results released today.

Anyone know what’s the average mean of P6 Mainstream (exclude GEP portion) ?
          %tage of pupils achieved above 250, above 260 ?

          %tage of pupils achieved above 260 :
is a good benchmark, whether student can enter Rgs Secondary or not, for those who did not enter by DSA.

What is the highest T-score from Mainstream, & highest T-score from GEP ?
          Thanks

Hi mummies, can I ask what is consider good, average and bad score for P1?

My daughter scored 94% which I am happy but during meet the teachers session, the feedback are either average or bad. Hence I am curious about the marks that a P1 student should have.
            for P1/P2 -

            If a student get 25x, 26x, 27x :
            considered ... average

            If a student get Low end of 28x (eg : 281 or 282) :
            is considered ... Within average

But, if student get High end of 28x (eg : 289) or 29x :
            is considered ... Above average

To be within Top 3, in class :
Total aggregate need to be around, at least 296 or 297/300

            There is no bad score
If below average, next year child will attend P2 learning support program (English or Maths), or asked to attend Bridging programme P2 Chinese
            (if weak in Chinese)

(Mid / Upper primary score : P3 to P6, is upon 400, because 4 subjects including Science)

            ====================================

            Note (P1 parents)

If your daughter score eg : 94% overall at end of P1 :
you may contact MOE at Telephone 687-2222-0 (Customer Service Inquiry) :
inquire whether or not, she is within Top 25%, of her entire P1 cohort ?
MOE can check on the spot for you, provide you an answer, if you give them your daughter's birth certificate identification number to check.

How many classes, are there in 2015 P1 entire cohort ?
            Total : 9 classes
            Each class : 30 students
            Hence, Total number of P1 students = 9 x 30 = 270 students

What is Top 25 %, of P1 entire cohort ?
            It is 0.25 x 270 = 67

So, What does #67 mean ?

It means that, #67th ranked position pupil is the last candidate within Top 25%, of entire P1 cohort.
school will cut off from here, after this last 67th position, since Total 270 pupils.

If your daughter's Total score is high enough, to land her to be within Top 25% of her entire P1 cohort / peers, she will receive a letter from MOE by mid December 2015, in joint collaboration with a community centre in Singapore nearest to where she is currently staying, to receive an (MOE Edusave) award.

If your girl win this award (within Top 25%), MOE will send you a letter first. The community centre constituency will also send you another letter, inform you which day/time, to receive the award, from your MP in your constituency.

However, if after inquiry, MOE say your daughter did not receive an award this year, it may mean that -

            - either she miss out by just a few decimal point,
(If you refer to your report card, Total aggregate is reported in Decimal point)

            Or

            - the last #67th ranked candidate (last candidate, within Top 25% of cohort), get cut off at a very, very high Total aggregate for 3 subjects (beyond 290)

            Never mind.
            Try harder, next year.
School always say : Do your personal best

Like that I jialiat liao lor.
As I do not seems to remember scoring that high during my primary schools day.
PSLE scored 180marks; GCE O level Scored all Bs; Poly scored all As and Bs; till University, then my grades improved to 24As with 1st Class Honors; then to Masters.

So, question is: If my girl, P1 in 2016, scored less than 260marks and below, will she be kick out of the school??
Seriously I want her to enjoy her childhood, not just focusing on results and results only.
May really regret if a wrong choice is made to put her in RGPS.

              Sigh :frustrated:

Hello! My DD is going to P1 next year and I wanted to say hello to all of you! It is nice to know that there is such a "support group" out here on which we Blur mummies can tap on.

Nobody get kicked out of RGPS, do not worry.

                  For P1/P2 :
our school offer Learning Support program (English / Maths) and Chinese bridging program, to those who need it. (if any)

                  From P3 onwards :
our school offer remedial lessons, to pupils who need it (if any)

However, at end of P2 or at end of P3 or P4, there are some parents who choose to transfer their child out to schools that are affliated to Secondary, on their own accord. It is their own decision, as RGPS is not affliated to RGS Secondary.
If child cannot enter RGS via DSA, then child need a very high T-score (around 261) to enter RGS, based on merit.
If T-score is 250 : still unable / insufficient, to enter RGS.

                  Eg
If parents choose to transfer their daughter out to CHIJ Toa Payoh primary, at T-score 200, affliated students can study Express \"O\" level track.

For Express stream Secondary 1, Cut off point for affiliation pupils are
                  St Margaret : 200
                  Paya Lebar Methodist : 205 to 210

                  SCGS : 220
                  MGS (Blackmore drive) : 220

                  CHIJ St Nicholas : 230
(as of today, 2015 Psle, to be revised again)

                  For P1 :
A lot of students tend to do very well, because P1 is the lowest level out of 6 years, from P1 to P6
P1 curriculum itself is very easy

                  From P4 to P5 :
There is a big jump, in the breadth & depth of curriculum taught / learnt, covered.

Whether a child is truly bright or not : can gauge, at P5 onwards.
P5/P6, is the time when one can tell.

Some of the students who done very well in P1/P2 ... dropped, when come to P5.

Others did not do so well in P1/P2, catch up in P5, as they mature, wake up in time understand that Psle T-score determine which Secondary school (or \"A\" level school, if is an IP school) they end up in.

I just got the name tags from Bibibaba. The instruction only show where the tags should go on the dresses, does it mean no need to sew it onto the PE shirt? TIA!
