Speaking of the class allocation, is there any noticeable difference between the lessons / teachers / resources etc between classes A-D and E-F?

E and F classes have heavier workload and more homework/assignments to do.

I guess if E & F are high ability students, lessons will be able to move at a faster pace and they will be able to further stretched. To my knowledge, when it comes P4, the strongest in the mainstream will go Tag class, (main bulk comes from 3E and 3F). Hence, either class E or F will have students who are stronger in Math and Science and the other class will have students who are better in language, but not too sure if this still apply. Infact this type of grouping helps students with similar abilities to move at the same pace, so that the weaker students will have more time to build their foundation. Understand the P wants quantity passes, to ensure more students can pass their PSLE, to proceed to Sec school, which is a good thing. Instead of having just a handful of high T-score students in the school, the % passes is increased, it benefits all groups. The weaker students will also not feel stressed out.

The top 80 P2 students will be evenly split into 3E n 3F, and the balance will be split evenly into 3A - 3D. But then, that doesn’t mean the child cannot move up to the better class in P4. At P4, a substantial number of students fr E n F class will move up to Tag 1 or GEP class, and so those who top the P3A- P3D class will then be shifted to E or F class in P4 to fill up the empty slots. The movement fr A-D shld be abt 30 students, assuming that particular year there isn’t a lot of transferred students. There were even students from A - D class who make it to TAG 1 class at P4.

The major grouping comes at end P4. Those that are good in Science n Maths will be move to 5F class, while 5E class tends to be stronger in languages. The rest of the students will be streamed according to result from D class to the weakest A class. N I guess it a known fact for most schools, the best teachers will be assigned to the top classes. So Tag class n F class will naturally get either HOD or Subject head teachers to guide them.

OK, so there is improvement as compared to previous year, both in terms of mean and % above 250.

Great work for students, teachers & P. I understand that Mrs Neo was dropping by the P6 classes regularly; even meeting some P6 students privately, all efforts in order to motivate them prior to the exams. Much appreciated.
