ACS (INDEPENDENT)’S 2024 IB EXAM RESULTS 18 DEC 2024

100.0% passes; school achieved an average score of 41.2 points.

Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)’s Class of 2024 comprising 452 students achieved 100% passes at the November 2024 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme Examination. Of these 452 students, 356 (79%) obtained 40 points and above, while 267 students (59%) achieved a score of between 42 to 45 points. This set of results saw the school achieving an average score of 41.2 points. The students received their results online at 8 am on 18 December 2024 via the IB candidate website.

The Principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Mr Arene Koh, extends his heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2024 for completing the rigorous IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and achieving outstanding results in the November 2024 IBDP examinations.

Commending their performance and achievements, he noted that this outcome has shown what is possible when dedication, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence come together. He urged the Class of 2024 to remain steadfast in their journey and continue to build a legacy of positive change as they step into the next chapter.

The school also expresses its gratitude to the ACS Board of Governors, the ACS(I) Board of Management, the ACS Old Boys’ Association, the Methodist Church in Singapore, MOE, parents and well-wishers for their support and encouragement.

The IBDP Class of 2024, together with teachers, parents and the Senior Administration, will come together on 3 January 2025 to celebrate and give thanks for this set of results.

Lol. When I bump into the neighbourhood canines with my dd, their owners will often issue some commands, & I would always exclaim, "Omg, the doggies are more obedient than you!!" then she glares at me & we have a good laugh

Her Econs degree is a BA, but that's just a name. The content of the course was pretty much like any other Econs course, without the distractions of \"general core courses\" and \"cross-disciplinary courses\" or whatever they are called in universities that are more modular.

Totally agree!! \"General core courses\" or \"cross-disciplinary courses\" sound cutting edge, but if one were to scrutinise, some of these courses may Not be the best use of time for certain student profiles

Hello! My understanding from the principal *was* that the centre s standards are pegged to the CEFR, so I'm uncertain that there is a percentage involved, but I'm just sharing what I can see in the third language exam papers that the expectations are high

I agree - that's what I tell my dd too! But already, theres peer pressure - like her (S1) frens would nudge her to aim to offer triple sciences rather than double humanities (I think they were shocked by the sudden jump in requirement to have them make inferences or think critically haha)

For IP kids, non core subjects could perhaps help them enrol into certain programs? ..

(Apologies for the ignorance,) I had not considered such a structure before! However, my dd s frens (S1) are already discussing post secondary options, suggesting that it may be better (I’m not sure in what sense) to enter a polytechnic rather than a JC

She was disappointed though, that there will be no chance for retake of MTL. Btw, for our school, even if you do not qualify for HMT (based on PSLE results), as long as you (S1 G3 student) score at least AL4 (PSLE MT), the school allows them to opt for HMT. Still, there are only 2 classes of HCL in her cohort (of ~5 G3 classes)
