seem like HCI environment is very competitive and not easy to get to the top 10%. From what I understand from my friend, getting an A1 for your maths and sciences is given or expected from you if you are in HCI. Her DS class is full of smart kids which score all straight As with msg 1.

I'm a Sec 1 HCI student and I would like to let you know that getting A1 for math and science is not expected of you. It is because your friend's son is in SMTP. In order to even enter the programme, an MSG of <2 and A1 for math and science is required. This programme only admits the smartest students so this does not apply to every single class. I do agree however that getting into the top 10% is difficult.

Hi, I’m also looking for transport from Bedok to HCI as DS is going HCI next year for Sec 1… does anyone have any idea how the boys can travel to HCI?


I went to enquire from staff room at HCI just now, and apparently some parents did try some school bus service, but the feedback was not positive… so the staff did not recommend it as the first option for travelling to HCI.

Normally during S1 registration, you could access the school bus operator contact number on that day. However, it is a private school bus service. There will be plenty of Hwa Chong boys on S1 registration to assist you.

So far, we have had no problem with the private school bus operator.
