Just to add on.
During the haze period last few months, even the Sec 1 classes were "upgraded" to air-cond class room… Not sure how they managed to squeeze more air-cond room …
Yes. 3rd lang you can drop anytime. Before EOY exam, school will usually ask the student, whether they want the 3rd lang result to be included as part of MSG calculation…

RE: St Anthony's Primary
super-mom:
Hi,Hi!
We are catholics and wish to register my boy in SAPS. Want to find out the following:
1) how is the school culture/environment? Any good focus on character building?
2) academic standard. I could not find any past psle achievements
3) chinese standard. Any higher chinese and from what level onwards?
4) Secondary school affiliation with SJI. How will SAPS students benefit from it, discounted PSLE scores to get into SJI?
Thanks!!
Perhaps I can share some experience on SAPS, I have two kids, one still study in SAPS, another was P6 last year at the same school.
SAPS only stream Higher Chinese in P5, I would say, Chinese may not be the strength of SAPS as it doesn't have strong Chinese speaking culture, but as with any language subject, parents do play a big part in creating the environment besides school time. BTW, my son took Higher Chinese subject & able to score merit during the PSLE.
Value wise, in my view is good, so far kids behaving well ..
Result wise, last year average PSLE T-score is ~210, 24 pupils got > 250.. 77% eligible for Express
SJI, yes it’s affiliated sec school, pupils has some discounted PSLE T-score to enter.. but only for O-level, not for IP, IP needs at least > 250
As of 'open house', normally end of the year, there will have annual carnival... you can drop by to take a look ..
Do PM me if you want more information. -
RE: DSA 2015
Jarol Lo:
Thank you phtthp for your advise. I've already posted my questions in the respective threads.
Perhaps post yr specific qn into 3 different thread (sec school thread) : hwa Chong sec, nus high, SST.phtthp:
Dear parents,
i like to know if there is such thing as DSA via Robotics? My son's CCA is robotics but so far never seen anybody in this thread apply for it. Not sure if this is applicable to schools like SST, NUSH, HCI etc that has Robotics as CCA.
Appreciate if somebody can advise me. Thank you
The parents there will reply you, faster.
Maybe I can share some experience
Coincidentally, I son applied DSA on two above mentioned schools, Hwa Chong & SST last year. He is very active in robotic during the primary school day.
As far as I know, SST & Hwa Chong do not have specific DSA via Robotic, my son's DSA application is via academic route, but key is, during DSA interview, all those robotic experience/leadership count (I would like to believe so, because unlike others, my son doesn't have any math Olympiad trophy & result not .…).....
He is able to gain acceptance via DSA into these two schools. Now he is in Hwa Chong, & aiming to enter Robotic CCA.. -

RE: Good & reliable mono laser printer for home
FantasyLandDreams:
Thank FantasylandDreams for feedback,
Please do not buy HT 1110, I bought one less than a year ago becos it was cheap and come with starter toner and retiring it soon. Already 3rd toner now. Somehow print less than 500 pages per toner. In the end bought canon laser 3 in 1 printer last December to replace brother printer. So far very pleased with canon and Lexmark laser printer. Brother printer somehow cannot make it.....catfish1:
Thanks iwork,
Am also thinking to get Brother too.. my last colour laser printer is Samsung...not very reliable.. want to check with more user before making the decision..
Brother has one mono laser printer HT-1110, only $68!!... anyone have experience over this printer? (not sure whether it come with starter toner, or need to separate purchase)..
Is HT 1110 only problem is toner consumption high? any other issue encountered during the last 1 year ownership? appreciate your feedback..
Based on my understanding, Canon, Epson etc are traditionally inkjet printer manufacturer.. but move up to laser recently.. -

I just got myself glasses with blue light protective covering. It's supposedly helpful because I spend long hours staring at my computer screen/phones at work. It might be helpful for children too right? Especially with TV and iPads..
My DS currently using those Blue light block lenses for about a year, the down side is, it will cast a yellow tint on everything he sees, white no longer pure white.. but honestly, I do not know whether it help anything.. last check after 6 months, his degree didn't get worsen, I assume, it help
