      Hi Parents,

Do you have any idea about any specialised maths tutor/tuition center, who coach P4 children who are in GEP or school based special streaming program?

For them, apart from the normal MOE syllabus maths, there will be enrichment questions equivalent to maths olympiad and the standard of questions is a bit high.

Any inputs greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day.

      😄

        Hi,

I’m also interested in this type of course. Would appreciate if any parents whose kids have had that can share. Thanks

There is 1 in Parkway Centre, Marine Parade.

Its called " Xue Jie" on the 9th floor. Its primarily a chinese school,
But the owner is a Maths teacher and I have heard positive feedbacks about him as a Math teacher. And they do Olympaid Math- i heard.

            Can check it out!

Adding on, there are many GEP students there in the program.

I send my kid to Indigo. They don’t state that they are a GEP center but most of their kids are from IP schools and the instructors there are from GEP/Top Programs and that works for me.

                  Hi justMommy,

I'm interested to find out about Indigo. How long has your child attended Indigo and which subject is it? Have you seen improvement since then? My ds is in Sec 1 IP and interested in the IP Maths class.

                  Thanks and appreciate your help!

                    Hi,

I am not very sure about any center but I was recommended to a private tutor who builds foundation maths, concepts application to intermediate then advanced mathematics. I have been engaged ever since and my child has from struggled to improvement and more stable and indepedence. Of course, results have also improved in staggered manner and managed to maintain itself at a high position. I sometimes think it’s luck too, but I am still not very luck in writing teachers, if parents have anything to share, I hope you could pm me and share these details. Thank you in advance. Urgent, my child is going to PSLE soon, it’s my fault not to prepare much earlier, hope parents understand my anxiety. Anyone…?

I think ‘The Math Note’ tuition centre is not bad. It’s owned by an ex school teacher. My daughter went for her workshop and she said it was fun and engaging, explanations was clear. The teacher made the questions made the questions seemed easier to solve after her explanation . I saw a few pages of the notes given by her to my daughter, I am not an expert but I could tell that it was well-written by someone with good content knowledge in the subject.

We tried group tuition with other centre before but her grades didn’t improve. She was so stress because she is in a school which is so competitive so I decided to change for her and I am glad we did.

                      Hope this helps. P

Home tuition seems to work better than tuition center as my kid is able to focus better, and is more open to speaking up and asking question with a one to one tutor. I was introduced to this maths tutor Mr Cheah who help my kid a lot, especially when PSLE is this year. The foundation of my kid is not bad, but needed an added push so decided to engage him. Well often results speak the most, and was glad I made the decision for home tuition. Now praying that my kid will ace his PSLE maths. Let me know if you want the tutor's contact.
