I would also like to find out more about SQ. My girl will be in P1 next yr and I am considering betweenSQ and west grove. Rulang is too competitive, think I will give a miss.

      Tks,
      Evelyn

        Hi there,

Shuqun academic is getting better and form teacher’s is well trained and professional now of days. If a child is in good class eg: xB3 will have a lot of daily assessment homework to do. I will make sure my boy finish his daily homework before go to bed. My child is in 2B3 in year 2010

PS: Every Wednesday - Chinese Tin Xie
        Friday - Spelling.

Rulang is too competitive and alternative better school in Jurong West area will be Shuqun.

My two kids are in Shuqun, they are P4 n P6. 6years ago, I also like you, considering Rulang, West grove and Shuqun. I ended up going to Shuqun but no regret! My boy got 2nd in class in P1 and all these six years are in good clusters. My girl got 1st in class in P2 and also posted to good clusters.

The principal, Mr Tsu is a good principal, he put in great effort to write newsletter to parents.

          Good school!

            HiHi Wswslim & Adetan,

Thanks for sharing more information on Shu Qun Primary School. Does Shu Qun Pri starts to stream the students based on their results in P1? Is it based on luck that one gets into a good class for P1?

Any idea how many good classes do they have for each level?

For those children whom couldn't make it to the good classes, are they not given the same type of daily homework as compared to those in good class? What will be the difference between good class and not so good class? Daily homework and the teacher?

Sorry for asking so many questions as I would love to know more about Shu Qun. Need to register for my child this coming July.

            Thank you.

            Cheers

              HiHi Wswslim & Adetan,

Thanks for the information. It really helps. Btw, is SQ a very stress school? I hope is a balance.

What about West grove if Shuqun is a better school in Jurong west area?

Adetan, what is the deciding point when you chose SQ over West grove?

              Tks,
              Evelyn

I will not say a stress school, rather a good environment for kids to learn at their pace.

West Grove also a good school in Jurong West area!

In fact, during that time I chose West Grove but could not get in. No regrets!

Do remember to know that form teacher and speak to the teacher frequently to know your child performance in school.
That will help to get excellent results!

For P1 there are no streaming, no good classes only P2 starts. But in P1, they are already in process in streaming them like chinese. Good ones will go into good chinese class and mixed with other classes good ones.

And after SA2 in P1, will stream accordingly to best class eg. 2A4 class - performing arts, 2B4 class - science and maths, 2C4 class - good in all subjects. Only 3 best classes!

Need not worry, Shuqun teachers are caring and friendly.
