All the primary sch GE kids are placed in the last few classes together with some mainstream high PSLE scorers. The rest of the mainstream students will be placed in the first few classes. Everyone goes through the same RI curriculum, tests and exams. They are all Rafflesians. In RI, for year 2015 Sec 1s were the GEP boys and mainstream boys be grouped together or GEP students will be in GEP classes ?
Any idea if the boys are placed in classes based on DSA or Tscore or randomly mixed?
This class arrangement is for the year 1 and 2. The boys are randomly mixed, dont look like they are grouped according to t score for the year 1, 2015.
In year 3 and 4, they will be regrouped according to their subjects combinations. -

Not too sure if it is a special dsa category.PiggyLalala:
14 sec 1 classes... average class size 30 except 1A with much smaller class size..
Thanks. Just curious, what is class 1A? Is it for a special DSA category? -
1A - Sports DSA class

pirated:
1A - Sports DSA class
To be specific, it is for Sports DSA whose t-score is below certain level. I think 240? -

Dear all, the average mainstream students will be placed from class 1B & upwards.. high flyers is all at the last few classes.. 1A & some 1B is fr the sports DSA students who scored average 240, but during my DS Y1 in 2013, there is a student with 210+ but now he is doing reasonable well.

PSLE score does not matter that much when u go to sec sch & there is a GEP boy who got retained in Y4.
the 1A class has a slightly diff exam papers compared to the rest & in Y1 they don't sit for mid yr exams if I rem correctly. When this 1A boys go to 2A, they will need to score GPA >2.8 to continue to the IP track. Only a handful of them who get lower will go to the on-demand O level class. Well this is wat my DS told me... :-D...cheers! -

Everyone starts from a clean slate as there is no more distinction between GEP or non-GEP. The achievement attained (both academic and non academic) is up to the individual student. -
Hi, I'm looking for sec 1 and 2 RI math notes for my ds who is entering RI next year. Are there any parents of sec 3/4 boys who have their child's old notes and is willing to share/sell me?

Hi all, DS joining RI next year. would like to find out the following:
1. are there lockers available for rent in the campus when sch starts? how do we indicate our interest?
2. timing for recess?
3.what books are used for literature lessons in year 1?
Thanks all! -

Lockers are free of charge and are allocated to the students by their form teachers. Should be all allocated by the end of January. Most people don't really have a need for them though, as textbooks are almost never required.Hi all, DS joining RI next year. would like to find out the following:

Recess timings are staggered. There might be a different time for each day. They can be as early as 8.50am or as late as 10.50am. They should receive their timetables after Orientation.
Literature lessons are merged into English lessons. The book in the booklist (given during Registration Day) will be the book. The books may not be the same as last year. This year's batch of Year ones have An Inspector Calls for their book.
