Hi, may I ask if there is any streaming in SCGS for the sec 1 express classes based on psle tscore? TIA

Hi 3kiddos, if by streaming you mean banding, yes the students will be banded for Sec 1 express classes based on their psle scores (well, at least that has been the case for all the years before:) )

      Yes, thanks skywaywhispers!

        Hi

I would like to try via DSA(academic) route to this school.
My daughter s P5 result isn’t very good. One A* and remaining As(85%).
Is there a chance to get via DSA academic ? If so what is the procedure
        Really appreciate your suggestions

Anyone know how many Sec1 classes there are at SCGS?

          How many for IP program?
          How many for O-level program?
And what is the class size?

...trying to gauge chances of getting accepted there because last year's cut off point is two pts below my daughter's score and never know if the COP may go up. Between SCGS and a government school w same COP.
I heard govt school has more classes than independent. Anyone confirm that?

Thx for any feedback w above questions. πŸ™‚
          :thankyou:

I went to the open house yesterday with DD and was told this:
            - 4 IP classes and 4 O level classes
            - each class has 30-32 girls
            Good luck!

              Hi bsk
In my opinion (based on experience from this year) your daughter's score is good enough to apply. In addition to P5 and P6 SA1 results, they will also look at other achievements, the GAT results and interview. The school website will have the details of the application process next year.

                Hi,

My girl is in sec one this year, may I know whether they will remain in the same class next year or there will be another reshuffling of class? If yes, when and how are they being informed? Tks!!!

Dear Lani, yes, they change classes based on their overall results for Sec One! They change again in Sec Two when they are being streamed. However in Sec 3 and 4 the classes are the same.

                    Hi skywaywhispers,

very interesting reply. I have a further query. We are relocating to Singapore from the UK and my DD has got admitted at SCGS. My daughter had mainly British classmates but there was a good mix of girls from different ethnicity and faith. What kind of diversity exists in any particular class of SCGS?

                        Hi there 75Circle,
Most of my classmates are Chinese (I will DM you the details) and are Christians/Catholics/Free-thinkers. Hope this helped πŸ™‚
