Oh yes, DD1 said only 3 or 4 girls can attend the tea session; don't know whether ft will choose or draw lots or who are interested. got another BICEP 1day camp at Hwa Chong during june hols (organised by HCI and NYGH) - also a few vacancies available - \"advertisement\" time i think. nowadays the principals must think of marketing strategies too - quite aggressive in trying to get the \"best\" students. that's why the debate at Victoria whether to be true IP sch.

ya I think hci pretty agressive in attracting top students nowadays...last sat there is an event organised by them also for selected p5 students( abt 54 of them)...so they also do 30mins of 'advertisement' there... 😉

There is also a 30 mins 'school promotion talk' by NYGH (for female participants) and HCI (for male participants) during the forthcoming Preliminary Round of Schools Bilingual Olympiad.

Thanks for pointing me to the website; took a look at the sample questions - quite tricky !! luckily the quiz is only 1 hr ; otherwise my DD1 will probably have headache aft going thru the questions; some of the answers will be so close and the more i read, the more confused i’ll be + can’t decide which to choose.

i guess from now onwards, the various schools will be doing their advertisements; i heard some sec sch will do roadshows too. although DSA application will begin in May (for some sch), most people will have to wait for the SA1 results as they will be essential especially if apply via academic.

and we skipped the NUSHS open house over the weekend ... totally \"forgotten\" about it since we had no strong desire to try NUSHS

Anyone can advise if a student is selected by a school during DSA selection but then PSLE marks is much better when released. Can this student choose another better school and reject the offer from DSA school?

I am not clear on the DSA part.

You would have made the choices before u sit for the PSLE and on result day, u have no more choices.

You would have \"accepted\" the DSA offer before the PSLE is out.......as in u are required to rank your choices of DSA offers from the schools that have offered u

MOE will do the rest and on PSLE result day, you will be notified of your posting to your first choice school chosen in the above school ranking of choice by DSA offeree

You would have \"accepted\" the DSA offer before the PSLE is out.......am I wrong ??

Most schools with DSA process would spell out what is required of parent / student after the schools have made the offer at the end of the DSA exercise

I called one of the DSA school and ask this question, the staff say if PSLE result is better and want to enroll another better school, it depend on the \"better\"school whether accept the student. If the student is accepted and the DSA school will release upon principal's approval (but normally will release as if a student don't want them, they also won't force). This is what I learnt from the staff. But later I saw somewhere in web that you cannot reject the DSA school once they give you a confirm place.

That is why I am puzzled on this as I am not clear on the DSA procedure
