Thank you for all your feedback.

May I ask if there are many students who drop HMT in year 2 &3?

Heard from my ah boy that about 20+ JH2 students were offered to do MT at JH3. Out of these students, we do not know how many will be doing MT next year, how many opt to continue with HMT next year.

Do you mean only 20 out of a cohort of about 200 were chosen only? In that case perhaps it’s better not to opt for hmt at the start? Thanks for yr advice

From my girl. She said that as long as the student score C+ & above can take HMT. If C, can opt HMT or MT. D & below can only take MT.

I do not have the exact number how many students were given the option letter and were asked to attend the meeting with the HOD.

I also do not know the exact cohort number of each year.

I cant advise whether to opt in or out at the start as it all depends on the child and how much the child wants to do a \"good job\" at tackling HMT or MT.

I do not even know what exactly is the difference in the difficulty level of HMT vs MT.

Hence I am unable to give any advice to you.

                  :congrats:

There is a financial assistance scheme, but I do not know whether it is applicable to non-Singaporeans.

You can email or call up the school to make enquiries.

The email address can be found on the school website.

                    Hi Gerald,

Congrats to your good result. Welcome to njc as believe your score virtually can enter.
DS chose njc over r n h family even though he qualify as he felt peer pressure n very competitive over these two top schools. In njc, he has some chance for some programs like accelerated maths which he top maths in his class. He also can continue jap third language as still can manage. Most important he likes the boarding program n mixed gender environment.

Sorry for boarding financial assistance , I have no idea for non Singaporeans
thank you! πŸ™‚ my name's not gerard, by the way. it's my dad's name πŸ˜‚

                      Hello Morning,

My boy just returned from overseas, been accepted in NJC year 3 (Sec 3)
He is totally oblivious to the local system here, and it’s eons that I have been too, thus
                      can’t remember.

May I seek your help, on what does my son need to prep for next year please?

Any info or feedback (+ve or -ve) would be helpful as I have totally no clue about school or culture.

                      Thanks a lot.

Can NJC students wear shorts shoes? Or must they wear white school shoes?
