Hi dimitri-can, need your advise on the best way to travel from Narita to Karuizawa.


There are 2 legs to the journey i.e. Narita to Ueno/Japan Stn, and to Karuizawa.
Should I get the flexi 5day JR East? Or what are the alternatives?

You are referring to the hotel, Yumoto Niseko Prince Hotel Hirafutei yea?

From the airport, there isn't a direct route there, you need to take a train to Otaru, then change to Hakodate Main Line and stop at 比羅夫(Hirafu-station).

Once you reach Hirafu station, you might have to take a taxi there.

I have sent an email to the hotel staff asking if there is a better route as the original route they advised is to a further station.

Alternate way - There is direct bus from Chitose airport to Niseko. If the bus doesnot go to the hotel, simply drop at Hirafu welcome center and get your hotel to pick you (most Niseko accomodation will do that) or take a taxi to the hotel (distance is much nearer)
