Son was excited he scored full marks for first time in a test.
Tutor cleared his doubts and pushed quite a bit. -
As the word, result-oriented, hints, the optimum yard stick to judge if one tutor is a good one is the tutourial outcome.

Interesting and insightful discussion. I came across this website and come into it when i was searching the communities for tutors and parents. When I read through the threads, I realized how great we come up with the common concerns regarding to choose the most suitable tutor for kid. There is no sense that kid should be put into a group class learning same content at the same pace. The result would be "fast learners feel bored or slower learners lag behind or even both", depending on what tutor pick up for revision.
So I and some of the professors and PhD from NUS, are planning to conduct a free and rewarding workshop program focusing on personalize learning by combining online and offline service. Based on the conceptional interviews we did before with tutors and parents, we design a new flow for tutors, students and parents to follow. Data analytics and pedagogical method will be utilized in the program to ensure that every student will be provided personalized study plan based on personal evaluation and diagnosis. Parents will get a transparent report about child’s study. To name a few features. We have a strong engineer team to support you!
Not sure if I can announce this conceptional workshop here although it’s free, but please kindly correct or navigate me on how o proceed properly. Even we pay tutors $400 per student per month for their tuition service and reward this service for free to the students in need. What we expect to get from the workshop is the customer experience feedback, usability test and effect evaluation.
We are looking for P4-6 math tutors and P4-6 kid as pairs. For the tutors and parents who are interested to join the workshop, please PM me 86433866. We will kick this off soon and we firmly believe it’s time for traditional tuition/education to change and evolve with the aid of data tech. -

Hi, my son is currently in P5 and has always been weak in Maths especially word problems. I engaged a private tutor for him last year and have seen improvement in his P4 SA2 results.
Recently, I realized that his tutor has problem solving questions which are more complicated. Why do I say that? Because those questions that my son asked, she wasn't able to solve or explain them on the spot. At times, she needs to bring the questions home before coming back to my son few lessons later :scared: . Sometimes she even needs to refer to the answer booklet to do explanation to my son.
From what I have found out from my son, this tutor doesn't really know any technique of solving word problems. All she does during lessons was give assessment exercises for my son and after each lesson, there are more exercises.
I'm thinking of finding a replacement after SA1. Anyone here has any recommendation for Maths private tutor, I'm staying in Woodlands.
Thanks so much. -

Hi, for anyone who is looking for a tutor or looking for any revision course during the June Holiday, I can recommend my dd’s ex tutor. If I am not wrong, she is currently a full time tutor and she usually offers intensive revision course during holidays. My dd has performed well under her guidance and I believe she is capable to help other students as well.
She can be contacted at 93989072 (Miss Goh). She usually teaches in Jurong West, but I believe other locations can be negotiated. However, her schedule is usually very tight with other tutees so you may have to discuss her availability.
