I wonder if the lower birth rates in 2010 would help us in the registration. Any thoughts?

It will help if you are going for the less popular schools. For those popular schools, it will hardly matter.
Sorry one more question.

As mentioned I am purchasing an EC in Punggol which will TOP only end of 2017.
Can I use the purchasing document to register for school in Punggol or I need to physically stay in punggol then can register school in Punggol?

Thanks.

Your new property is being built so you can use your Sales Agreement with the developer to apply for schools in Punggol (if using distance priority). You must move into the new property once TOP or before the kid ends P2. (For completed properties, must physically move in and change NRIC address to use the distance priority.)

Since you are moving to Punggol soon, maybe just apply Punggol schools and forget Pasir Ris? Quite troublesome to transfer and have your kid make new friends again. Besides Mee Toh, you can also consider CHIJ OLN if you don't mind the mission school environment.

No point going to Pasir Ris primary, since confirmed shift house to Punggol soon.

If Catholic, can enrol under CHIJ Our Lady of Nativity, under Phase 2B. Do well in P1/P2, then seek transfer to CHIJ Toa Payoh or St Nicholas, for affiliation to Secondary, have peace of mind.

Within the Catholic family of convent schools, it is easier to seek Transfer.
Sorry don't really understand.
As my new place will be in Punggol and is not within 1-2km from CHIJ and also not PV in CHIJ, how can I go under Phase 2B?
Thanks!

Phase 2A :

for ex student

Phase 2B for CHIJ primary schools :
only for Catholic / Parent Volunteer / grassroot activity leader

If u are none of the above, that means u fall under Phase 2C (open to public)

hi, all

We will moving to our new BTO flat in Yishun St 51 by the end of 2016. My boy was born in 2010. There are 2 school nearby Naval and Northland within 1 KM. Which one is better? How can I apply these 2 school with different address?

I presume you are not trying to apply to schools using different address.

If you are applying to those schools using your BTO address (which may not be ready when application starts), you will need the necessary documents. MOE website FAQs answer those concerns fairly comprehensively.

Other than repeating often quoted \"all schools are good schools\" mantra, historical data shows that Northland is way more popular than Naval Base. For Northland, you have to face the ballot at <1 km on not very good odds (2 to 1 in 3 odds). On the other hand, there are plenty of vacancies for Naval Base even after Phase 2C. Hence, you may want to try your luck for Northland in Phase 2C and if you don't secure a place, apply for Naval Base at Phase 2Cs.

Thank you floppy!

BTO completed construction work and will collect keys around July -Sep 2016. We will move in end of 2016. I would like to try my luck to apply Northland, as there is only 500M far from my new home.

Dear KS parents,

Wanna your valuable advices for p1 reg in 2016, next year. I am eligible for p2b for schs in GRC and schs avail for my boy includes SJIJ, ACS Barker, ACS Junior, HongWen. The irony is I'm residing abv 2km for all schs exc HWPS. And we would prefer a mission sch to begin with given our religious background.
Spouse and I likes Maris Stellar Pri and is contemplating moving to <1km to qualify for p2c.
What would you do if you were me? :please:

If you are going by the caregiver route, you need to make a SD regardless of the phase you will be in (except for Phase 1, of course).
