A warm welcome to all NEW DHS PARENTS :celebrate:

:congrats: to all kids who have gotten into DHS...

Enjoy a fresh new Fun n enriching education journey here !!!

      Hi Augmum,

My DD got into DHS :rahrah:

May I ask about the school shoes? What is acceptable?

Congrats to Oxxo n yr DD... šŸ˜„

Regarding the sch shoes...from the student handbook...it is stated that ...
Only track shoes are allowed, MUST NOT be Flashy in colors n design...
Unlike in the past, where they only allowed shoes with abt 70% white ...

I had seen students wearing light blue or grey color track shoes...
Anyway, some pupils wear bolder colors to \"test water\" .... if u are not caught, then ok lor...if caught, will have to change to another pair... šŸ˜‰

As for socks, plain white socks, visible above the rim of the shoes...

Yesterday I envisaged I will pass by Shanghai Uniform Office at Ubi. I called to check whether I can buy my DS's Senior High uniform from there. I was told ok. So I went there with my DS. Upon reaching, a staff said all stocks (including those from Bras Basah) have been transferred to school :frustrated:

So, it is better to plan to buy the uniform at school.

the MOE SMS Said My DD is posted to DHS EXPRESS class, meaning?

Note that since a few years back, MOE has stopped labelling SPECIAL stream for SAP schools.

As for socks, plain white socks, visible above the rim of the shoes...[/quote]Hello! An email has been sent to next year's Y2-Y6 informing us of a change in the school's code of conduct regarding shoes:

All students are to wear plain white socks and they must be clearly visible above the rim of the shoes. Socks that only cover the sole are not allowed.
Only track shoes and pure white canvas shoes are allowed in school. Track shoes are encouraged as they protect the feet and secure the ankles during physical activities.
Track shoes and shoe laces must not be flashy in design and colour.
The approved colour for shoes (and shoe laces) shall be white, or a dominant colour of blue, grey or black

tl;dr, encouraged to wear track shoes, track shoes (and laces) must be predominantly blue grey or black, non-flashy colours, if your child chooses to wear canvas shoes they must be white.

Days prior to sch reopens... there'll be emails reminding students of their hair length ( for male students) , removal of hair coloring or nail polish...etc...
