For RI boys, 'matriculation' was simply filling in details and subject combinations online. No difference from RGS gals.OK, I did call the school office today, and the short answer is that the Yr5's from RI/RGS report to school on Thurs, 14 Jan 2016.
The lady in the office was quite defensive, which surprised me, so maybe I wasn't the first parent to call to ask? At first, it seemed that she didn't even want to tell me! She says that all students who attended matriculation in RI (apparently in Oct) would have been fully briefed about the induction programme and reporting date. However, on checking with my daughter, it seems the girls didn't attend any such session. Their \"matriculation\" was only filling in details and subject combination online. So maybe the RI boys have been given more info than the RGS girls? If so, can one of the parents post if there's anything important we should know ahead of the 14th? Thanks!
Year-5 students need to report to school on 11/1 to receive their GCE O Level HCL exam results. TBC.. -

Thanks! I'm going to leave the rest of the details to my daughter. I've got what I wanted - the reporting date. If she misses anything else, it's her fault!

Yes, i remembered that the girls keyed in subject combi in october. But at least there is a proper commmunication to parents as well. And i dont see inet anymore, so user unfriendly. I will call RI later and will be rude back to whosoever answers my call with a rude reply. Their so-called Stamford website should be updated too. Not our girls fault. People tend to forget

The lady in the office wasn't outright rude, just a bit defensive. I guess she was right, in a way, as there was that letter, although she thought there was an actual briefing. I do think it is my daughter's fault! She should have remembered there was a letter and checked it before telling me she hadn't been informed. Or she should have gleaned the most important info and told me at the time she received the letter so I could put it in my calendar. Anyway, the email reply I got from RI said they are working on updating the info on the Stamford portal. With the holidays etc, it could take a few more days, I guess. Since they are working on the assumption that the girls and, by extension, their parents already have the info, I suppose they thought they needn't put the info online so urgently. -
May I know where the B. Rajat Block is? Is it closer to the JC side or Secondary side?

I trust that our boys (& girls) will know what to do & by when, via their own amazing 'networking', way before Stamford's updates..

Hihi,
My boy is Sec 1 next year. Today's briefing mentioned that CCA usually are 3 times a week on Mon, Wed & Fri afternoons.
Does anyone know if RI offers CCA for leisure eg basketball as beginner or are the 3 times a week for basketball competitive team. If leisure CCA is available, do the kids need to attend all 3 sessions per week ?
Hope some seniors can help with advise. Thks.
Hi I would say all sports CCAs including basketball are competitive ones. Trainings are generally 3 times a week and sometimes more during competition period.. -

Hey, there will be a CCA talent profiling for all Year 1s (except those who DSA Sports / Performing Arts) when they enter RI. It is during these trials where students are able to show their potential for the CCA, enabling the coaches and teachers to select them for the CCA. Your child should try out the CCA trails that he is interested in so that the coaches are able to shortlist him for the CCA selection:) Hope this helps and all the best for your son's endeavours!icemocha:
