Can I check whether parents are allowed to walk the students into the school and hang around for 10 to 15 min in DHS on the 1st day?

I don't think it's necessary for parents to hang around as there will be student counsellors to guide the students. Your DD may feel awkward too.

I remembered dropping my 2 kids on their first day in Sec Sch n leave them to find their way about.

Don't worry, your child will do fine in DHS becos the students n teachers are very friendly n caring. Just tell your DD not to be shy n open her mouth to ask if she is unsure.

      Welcome to the Dunmanian Family!!

Thanks....it is my wife who wants to hang around. My DD will not be shy and anyway, she has her best friend with her as well. Both of them are accepted into DHS. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I look forward to being part of the Dunmanian Family for the next 6 yrs.

DHS Yr 1&2 students study Language Arts as a subject which is a combination of English and Literature. DD said that she had one book 'Animal Farm' when she was in Yr 1. Not sure about the recent batches.

For Chinese, they need to buy books which are not in the booklist at some point of the yr which the teachers will inform them to. Vendors will be in the school. Of course some students prefer to just borrow from library. Perhaps the Language Arts department is doing the same...

My DD1 had Animal Farm during her Y1 too.

But DD2โ€™s booklist doesnโ€™t have. I wonder why.

I think still doing. We bought the plastic book covers and in the pack, 1 cover was for Animal Farm.
