Dear all,

For those who have enquired regarding the tutor I have previously mentioned, her name is Teacher Nicky.
Please PM me if you need her contact details because I seldom check back on the forum.
My boy has just gotten back his results for PSLE on Wednesday and he got an A* for his science. We are over the moon!! Highly recommend this teacher if you want to see improvement in your children's results.
She only teaches up till primary 6 PSLE so my boy can't continue lesson with her anymore in Secondary School which is really a pity.

My boy is currently under a private tutor and is improving a lot. He's been with her for about 1 year now and his results has been improving steadily from borderline pass last year, he can score A now. She's also teaching my siblings children and they have also been improving, really glad i found her.She teaches only science and i'm not sure whether she travels out far because me and my siblings all live in bukit panjang area.

She provides her own notes, worksheets and mindmaps and sometimes even do simple science experiments with my kid so he really loves her lesson. Science experiment really takes up a lot of time but he got better concept of the topic after the experiments.
Hi, could you PM the contact detail. TIA
Hi was anyone able to get the contact of the above Holland tutor? I live at Holland, so if DS can join this tuition that would be perfect. If anyone reads this and is able to, would greatly appreciate if you can PM me at [email protected] for this contact. Thank you!

Candiess:
I feel to score in Science, the kid must understand the concepts very well by knowing how to apply it, how the change in variables affect the outcome and be able to to know which concepts the teacher is testing them on for each question. Cannot memorize. Hence by doing the hands on experiments to know your hypothesis, variables, constants, outcome and explanation to even \"failed experiments\" are important.

I believe kids learn best if they enjoy the subject, hence my girl was under this teacher during her primary school days. It keeps her interest in Science till now in Sec 3 taking Triple Sciences.
My nephews are in this centre too. Elder one got A* for recent PSLE and younger one band 1 (P3).
Learning is a continuous process, hope all our children can enjoy learning for life.
Hi SydneyBB

At Science Alive are they into experiments as well? My child is rather weak in Section B, does Science Alive tackle that area?

how much is the fees, class size btw?

thanks

They tackle on open ended questions every week (I see some questions are related to the experiment they do that day and more questions on that topic).
Every week there is experiment except 1-2 weeks before exams where they focus on revisions and exam techniques.
I see that their experiments are quite interesting and relevant to my son's sch syllabus. My son gets to do the experiments himself, no need to share. Some of my friends told me that some centres only the teachers do the experiments and students look.
Class size quite small, my son's class has only 4 students. Ha! He can get full attention of the teacher as he is very talkative!
Hi SydneyBB,
Did your DS improve?
My DS hates tuition but his results is getting worse. He cannot sit still for long, hates drilling.
He loved Sci in P3 but now doesn't want to read or do.

HI I m living in the east near katong/parkway. My P5 boy needs a delicate and committed Science tutor that can deliver. Got his a Science tutor last August. After a month, tutor told me she will be away for 3 weeks after her PSLE students last paper. I was ashocked but give in to her requests as my boy was coping well under her then. After her holidays came back was my boy’s school exams period and she only revised 1 lesson with him. To my horror after my boy exams she informed me that she is not able to come in to teach my boy’s science for the month of January 2016 as she will be away again. But she can teach my boy during December. My boy deserved and needed a break during the 6 weeks holidays. Please help my boy if you hv a committed Science tutor that can delivered. Appreciate a lot.
