* Eunoia JC (EJC)

True :sad: So lack of creativity...
After voting and deliberating, the new JC will most likely be renamed to Eunoia JC from Eunoia JC (p.s. newnation.sg already coining it as 1 Sin Ming JC).ngl2010:
Straits Times wrote
\"The name was chosen after several months of interaction with students and staff from the three schools, and their management committees, said Madam Chea g, adding that it had sieved through at least 200 suggestions.\"
Maybe what we need is more transparency and democracy? Students to vote online?
Recent trend suggest we are not very good at crowd sourcing for names. We have renamed Marina Bay to Marina Bay, chosen Budget Terminal as the name of the budget terminal, and decided on 1 Sengkang Mall as the name of the mall in Sengkang (formerly Compass Point). -

But... but... isn't Eunoia the outcome of a great burst of creativity? :idea:floppy:

Nothing wrong. I liked the Innova name for the same reasons as you.
Can someone enlighten me what's wrong with the name innova? I always associate it to innovation and creativity :idea:luvpsalm:

It is unfortunate that the author felt the need to heap on other JCs just because he was peeved because his alma mata is going to be associated with a pee-sounding name.[/quote]Same thoughts here. Innova is also easier to pronounce and remember.
Can't associate Eunoia (realised it's difficult to type with too many vowels) with any of the 3 schools which are filled with history, tradition, affiliation and alumni. It just lack the connection. -

Got what. Mr Brown already said it connects quite well with the Kim Geks of SCGS. I second that opinion.Same thoughts here. Innova is also easier to pronounce and remember.

However, a handful of the students (maybe incl some geppers from CHS) from the 3 feeder schools could have done well enough to go to more established (and with better sounding name) JCs like National, Victoria or Raffles. So why would they want to associate with a pee-sounding name? -
ChiefKiasu:
The Greek word has totally nothing to do with Nonya, pls. People just wanna make fun of it lah. In terms of pronunciation, \"Pneumonia\" sounds more similar than Nonya.

Indeed Eunoia has 5 vowels out of 6 letters. I don't have dyslexia but I have to slow down when typing this name. You know ah, it's annoying! -

Need to update your vocab now leh. It's not \"annoying\". It's \"eunoing\".
