My kid and I enjoyed the JMC classes. I like the interactions and class performance opportunities. There's a very shy girl in the class that used to tense up or cry when asked to play individually in front of group but opens up gradually over time - - intangible benefit of group class settings 😄

anyone with music wonderland at seng kang (level 4 at skcc)?

I paid $98 for the booklist and after going through the books after i reached home, i was thinking the price was quite steep for simple books and percussion set.

        1. music wonderland 22
        2. music toybox 22
        3. music wonderland stickers 12.50 (12.50 for stickers !!!)
        4. Music Wonderland CD 26.50
        5. Percussion Set - Triangle with beater, Castanet, Sleigh bells) 15

i didn’t go through before buying as we had to rush off for gym class, but anyway, we have to buy since we enrol for the course.

        anyone with similar sentiments?

          shaynamommy:
My take is that if you take 4 years to complete JMC to get to Grade 1 - it is really SLOW. I haev shared in another thread that I am glad that I stopped my DD's JMC after 6 months and put her into a 1 to 1 traditional piano class. To spend each class with my dd at JMC was honestly, too much for me to take. It was agonising as each time, they will just sing solfege and re-play and re-play the same pieces. I was bored to death as an accompanying parent, especially given that I had learnt piano previously,,

Ya, me too. It was extremely boring for me but I see my dd is enjoying the singing part. She is currently in Music Wonderland. For me, i could also coach her at home but i am not a trained music teacher and i would also like her to have some interaction with the children.

          Anyone in similar situation?

My son and I enjoyed the Music Wonderland and now we are enjoying our YJC together. It was such happiness watching him from unable to find his middle "Do" to being able to play a melody on the keyboard. He’s only 4 year old and he only started YJC for 3 months. He went through Music Wonderland for a year and I think its kind of fun for him with the stories and the actions, and there are parts of the lesson that required him to sit in front of the keyboard/electone and that helped prepare him for the YJC lessons later on. When kid start YJC, they really have to practice almost everyday. Otherwise they will not be able to catch up. Lesson progresses very fast. We are lucky to get a good teacher. She will check each kid’s progress every lesson.

                  Hi all,

With raving reviews of Music Playtime in 2015, a newly improvised programme, Little Musicians Playworld (LMP) is brought back by popular demands. We have come together to organize a three-hour introductory camp where students can experience music through holistic learning tapping into subconscious and conscious approaches.

LMP introduces the beautiful language of music through play that focuses on the integration of Body, Mind and Emotion. It targets children between the ages of 2 through 6 to grasp the learning approaches and aspects of music and dance.

We are currently organizing introductory camps for the programme and we hope to see you there! 🙂

                  Thank you,
On behalf of Verve Music and Dance School
