      Hi skywaywhispers,

very interesting reply. I have a further query. We are relocating to Singapore from the UK and my DD has got admitted at SCGS. My daughter had mainly British classmates but there was a good mix of girls from different ethnicity and faith. What kind of diversity exists in any particular class of SCGS?
You guys are really lucky, SCGS is quite a good school in Singapore.

        Hi 75Circle

Since your post is on this forum presume your daughter is joining Sec 1 or a higher level straight from Britain. For her admission assessment did she sit for the AEIS? If she was in British schooling all the way before, i.e. had not previously attended a Spore school, there will be a major adjustment so all the best! One of my kids moved when in lower primary and took a while to adjust.

My daughter who is just starting SCGS ( Secondary) is hoping there will be some diversity in the student population being a non-faith school and non SAP. Hope she won’t be disappointed.

sitting for IP (Integrated Curriculum program) GCE "A" level

          (bypass O level)

          IP : No affliation

          Cut off point : 252

difference of T-score (between IP track and O level track)
          252 - 251 =
          1 point, T-score difference

My friend’s niece is from the primary school. Her PSLE is only 241 and she is going to IP. It is affliated. Next year IP score is 253. Difference of 12 marks.

She probably got an IP place via DSA.

How did she get into SCGS IP if not through DSA : when the official cop for IP is 253 & she is 12 points far below cop (at 241) ?
through connection, or because her father is some big shot from some industry and P gave favor ?

which batch of psle she sat in ?

If what you claim is True, and this pupil from 2015 psle batch :
may report name of this student to Moe, trigger Moe to start investigate Why in spite of 12 points so far below official IP COP @253, she can still get into SCGS IP, when Moe already remind P and Vp of Secondary schools : do not accept appeal if student cannot meet Cop or above, as been reported in Straits Times press, on 29 Dec 2015

My daughter joined SCGS Sec this week and I attended the parents briefing and orientation event last night. Was so impressed by how the girls came up with choreographed dance performances within 3 days and really seemed to gel and full of school spirit. The new principal sounds promising. So far so good, very pleased with the choice.

Indeed, my girl is now in Sec 2 and so far I had not regretted making the choice! Everything is SCGS is so well planned and impressive.

My girl just secured 7 point before 4 points deduction. She like ACJI before result released. I prefer her choice RJC. Anyone has good advise?
