Hi thetinyseed,
Thanks a lot for your feedback! I guess I will strike off this CC from my list…
Agree with you that the teacher need to be honest with us, so that we can get to know early and try to help early…
Hope you boy will catch up soon… Jia you! -

Hi! I'm considering placing my 22 month old boy in the Parkway Centre branch. Anyone has any feedback or comments? Thanks!
They have 2 branches I think, one in Parry, the other one at Parkway. I stay in Serangoon and works near Katong so I visited both centres recently.
The one at Parkway is very new and clean which is a plus point cos hygiene is definitely a priority.I spoke with the lady boss and I am impressed by her passion for child education. She explained in details about the curriculum and activities the children go through and I am happy with the low child - teacher ratio, so the children will get more attention, and lesser stress on the teachers too.
The one at Parry is not as new but can see they did some reno and paint, they have quite a outdoor play area and when I visited, I saw the children were having fun with water play. Tho the place is not new, it is still quite clean and tidy with all the play things nicely placed.
I plan to enroll my son when he is 2 years old but have not decided which branch yet but was told the Parry branch may be on the waiting list. -
My daughter has been attending Treasure Box Child Development Centre (Parkway) for 1.5yrs now and we have been satisfied with the quality of care and education so far. She started when she was just 18mths old. We chose this centre as it was very new and clean. The most important reason was actually the low teacher:child ratio. The principal and school manager are also very helpful and detailed in explaining their centre's syllables when we first went there. The vibes we got from the school on our first meeting were good as compared to the other centres we viewed and hence our decision to place our daughter there.
During the initiation period, the centre was quite considerate as they allowed parents to stay with their kids for as long as 3 days. The teachers that my daughter had so far have been very sincere and committed. I do interact with the other levels teachers too and I must say it's been good impression so far.
Syllables are probably similar to most childcare centres (Counting, colours, craft, water play, young chef etc) but one thing that stands out to me is the assembly time. All the students have to sing the national anthem, the pledge in 3 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES (English, Chinese & Malay), followed by the school song which many of my other friends' children didn't do so in their schools. Our daughter could actually sing the anthem & say the pledge after only a few mths and we give credit to the school. In addition, Malay lessons are included from N1 onwards. My husband and I had a pleasant surprise when our daughter recited the pledge in Malay for us (maybe half was mumbled :P) just after 2-3mths of learning it. I personally think that it's wise to learn Malay living in a multi racial society like singapore. Likewise, non Chinese students also have to learn Mandarin in this centre.
I can't comment much about what thetinyseed has written about the K1/2 syllables as firstly, it's a different branch and secondly, my daughter has yet to reach that level. However, till date, we are still rather satisfied with what the centre has provided for my daughter & most importantly, she's happy. I guess it boils down to how parents feel about the school generally as well as if their kids enjoy attending lessons there.
Just my two cents worth
Hope that helps for you, janeys! -
