Saint Andrews/ACS Rugby Brawl

Way2GO:
Same same...but perhaps they are investigating? I hope they are not just waiting for the furore to die down - will see them no up if that is the case.
The SAS boy was wrong to jump the gun n punched ACS's Leonard,
But I am puzzled by ACS's silence so far.
ks2me, thanks for sharing what you have seen. At least I'm more aware of what goes on - DS1 still young. But I like to be prepared. :nunchuk: -

You are welcome. I am really quite surprised initially but I suppose I am slowly seeing this as norm in the new breed of children today.

Personally I did not have such encounters so frequently during my time. There were such children, but they were a handful only. -
Sigh... this is why after attending one match between SAJC and ACJC on the former's home ground, I gave up attending anymore (except when the JC principal \"forced\" us to attend SAS' match with RI at the Padang). Even after 2 years, I still don't undertsand rugby and never want to.

I was perturbed after reading ST reports this morning.
ACS (I)'s principal defended his charge in an email to ST
stating that the boy did not \"make remarks about the SAS's player's mother\"
but also brought fresh allegations against SAS boys.
The SAS's principal refuted his new allegations.
One or both the boys involved is(are) lying.
Is this how the boys will learn a lesson from this incident?
That they can hide behind the safety screen of parents and schools?
This fracas happened in a contact sport. If a player provokes an opposing player,
his reaction can be positive, negative or benign.
If the SAS boy is so easily provoked into punching someone who taunted 'go back to ITE\",
that SAS boy doesn't have the discipline, mental character and strentgth
to be on that field and the coach shouldn't have include him in the team.
Come on Dr. Ong, would you hit someone who just taunts you to go back to ITE?
How about teaching your boys to win graciously?
Before SAS and ACS make peace and reconcile the teams,
the schools should stop the claims and counter claims in public;
it is a waste of time and children learn the wrong lessons.
It is more crucial to get these two boys to thrash out the truth soon
with the principals, shake hands, impart the lesson(s) learnt and
reinforce values of sportmanship to your schools and move on.
How conveniently ACS forgets about Adhe Noviello
who still lies in a hospital bed after being hit by
several ACS boys in another rugby match.
Isn't that a more serious case?
Dr. Ong, how about at least getting your ACS fraternity
to at least show some concern or make a nice gesture
towards this boy who may now suffer permanent disabilities?
'The best is yet to be'; when will that be, ACS? -
Couldn't agree with you better, Way2GO. 2 cases involving ACS :slapshead: What does it say about ACS? A thorough investigations and damage control time. How the schools handle these incidents will affect how the students will eventually turn out as future leaders. :gloomy:

the mum of the acs boy has made a police report, am i right?

Yes. But more importantly, we are still waiting to hear what ACS would be doing for their boys' actions. -
Way2GO:
DR Ong is the Principal of ACS(I) and not ACS(Barker) which is involved in the earlier case that involves Adhe Noviello.

Really disgusted to hear about the case of the boy who now suffers from permanent disabilities. As a mum, I told my son that even if he can make it to ACS, that school is a BIG NO NO for me. I really don't have a good impression of the school. Why 2 cases involving ACS??? I won't be surprised if the boy is really being spiked to react. The chinese saying goes, if there is no wind, there is no wave. But yes, it's not right for the SAS boy to react.
What's wrong with the values???? A ACS (primary) boy approached my kids during their enrichment class. He asked what school they are from and went to say... no wonder your breath smell. I happened to be there (though not standing with them as I was checking out some stuff) and I heard the whole conversation. I was like :x I went up to him and asked him... so what school do you come from???? He said ACS and I was like, no wonder, your breath smells really terrible. Kids found it amusing but I just wondered if the boy is always exposed to such sarcastic comments to be making that. Then I just walked off. We now call them the Annoying Childish students. -
I also have encounters with primary level ACS boys, nothing flattering at all to talk about them. Quite a bunch of rottenly ill-behaved kids. The few I met was 100% bad so it set me thinking the sample I met was 100% rotten would it mean chances of meeting a good one is so remote?
