        ACSip:
Seems like will have to take Malay as a third language for the Regional Studies Programme

        http://www.acsindep.moe.edu.sg/talent-d ... programme/

The psle cutoff points may be lower than the stated 250 as my son corrected the number ... I can't recall the number now, but it's lower than 250.
It was posted at the door that COP for Express was 250, presumably for non-affiliated. IP COP was 256.

Yes, but I was referring to the Regional Studies Programme (not COP for ACS I).
          Delecto:

Information can be found in the orientation booklet that list down the boys itinerary.
If your son satisfy the following criteria:
          1) psle 250 and above
          2) Singapore citizen
          3) did not study Malay/ higher Malay as MT in school

Then, you can attend the regional studies programme briefing at 1230-1315

For the rest of the parents, there is the PSG workshop \"what to expect in Y1- a parent's perspective\" at 1315-1500

1500-1630 will be talk by principle and the rest of the school staff

1655-1725 will be the badge ceremony

If u r interested in Music Elective Programme, the briefing will start at 1735-1835

Hope that answer your enquires. šŸ˜„

            Thanks Honey.

Fyi for those who wanna alight at AYE, we realized this morning that pupils walk through STI back gate beside AYE bus stop.
Anyone knows the time taken for this walk pls, and whether it's sheltered all the way from the bus stop? And is this STI back gate always open, or open during the daytime?

If I remember correctly, I think my son mentioned something like Min COP 240 & above for RSP

Meaning ACSI actually lowered the COP for RSP from 250 to 240, to encourage more people to take RSP??

                  Probably 250 was a misprint http://www.acsindep.moe.edu.sg/talent-d ... programme/

Hi to all parents of Yr 1 boys!

                    RE: RSP Programme

Every year, the school takes in up to 20 year 1 boys for this programme. The other schools running this programme are: RI, VS, RGS & Cedar Girls. Each school around 20 scholars per intake.

To be considered for the programme, the student's PSLE T-Score has to be 250 or above (doesnt matter if you are from \"O\"-level or IP track). Besides filling in a form and doing a small writeup, there is an interview.

Each RSP Scholar will be granted $2,400 per annum off school fees (ie. parents only pay $145 per month instead of $345) and an allowance of $1000 (of which part of it, usually around $700, will be used to fund a compulsory overseas trip every year for the RSP scholars.) Do note that, however, if your son is already on EESIS, the $2,400 grant off school fees will not apply from this scholarship.

To be on this programme, the student has to take Malay Special Program (MSP) as a 3rd language (3-hour lesson per week conducted in school after curriculum time) and around 10 sessions of Understanding South East Asia (USEA) component every year (2-3 hour lesson per week conducted in school after curriculum time, field trips inclusive).

RSP scholars are also expected to attend seminars/experience exchange programmes with scholars from the other 4 schools twice a year - usually in june & November.

If there is a clash between CCA timings and RSP lessons, RSP lessons take priority. Most students have to settle the clashes or change CCA.

The USEA component requires the scholar to submit a research project + presentation (Yr 1-3 in group of 2/3 and Yr 4 alone) every year. Marks given for this project will be reflected on RSP report card but will not affect the students' overall grade with the other academic subjects.

The MSP component requires the scholar to sit for \"O-level\" MSP exam at the end of yr 4. Tests/exam results for every term will be taken as 1 subject for the school report card.

Hope this helps in your decision making! šŸ˜‰

Is there a lunch break or another break after recess since they are dismissed at 2.40?

                        hi gg,

Oops, I may be a little late but yes, Year 1s have 2 break times on every day. šŸ™‚
