Hi janet88, does your dd has hw from sch? My dd has hw from sch and also from her tutors, I can’t seem to find time for her to do revision with me. How did you do it?

            Our 2nd PSLE this year.

            From past experience with DS1:
Teachers will give loads of HW. More enrichment classes will be conducted lengthening school days. CCA will stop after first quarter. Sometimes PE, HE and other ‘optional’ classes will be taken over for lessons. Jun hols will be partially taken up with more school lessons.

Yes, it’s not going to be an easy year for our P6s. On top of all this , they do somehow have to do their tuition homework , if any. So not much time for assessment books. Try not to buy too many of these… the ones I got for DS1 are still sitting on the shelf.

In view of above, I let DS2 take a proper Nov/Dec break. Otherwise no stamina for the rest of the year. IMHO consistency (not just in P6 but throughout the school years) is probably the single most useful strategy for the PSLE year. I use the word ‘useful’ because it really does come in handy in ensuring that the child doesn’t have to put in super long hours this year.

I appreciate that every child is different and every parent has a different strategy for the PSLE year. Whatever the case, let’s all do our best to reduce stress for our DCs and make sure they stay happy and well-rested.

            Best wishes!

Yes...already has math homework. This week I think teachers still relaxed...give little homework. My revision with her is not a lot...just 10 min for each subject. But her form teacher told me have to revise science lower block and upper block as ca1 is in week 9. If I have to revise upper block (what is being taught presently) as well as lower block, that will take up twice a week. English, I use daily dose.
Math I have not planned yet.

My DS starts to have sch hwk yesterday.

Can’t seem to have time to do revision with him when I reach home about 7+pm. He was still doing his hwk slowly (few pages of Eng). His momentum seems to slow down during the hols.

                    you are welcome.

when teachers are on the ball next week, it might be a different story because my schedule would have to be put aside. in the meantime, just go with the flow.

Mine came back with homework on day 1 already 😓

So far, she has homework to complete every day. Teacher gave a whole list of resources to purchase. :scared:

what did she ask your daughter to buy?
on my side here, the 'extra' would be the school's past year exam papers.
