My DS has class til 5.30pm on 12 Jan and 5pm on 13 Jan.
        How to go?
Does the sch normally allow them to dismiss early for the oipen house if we write in to request?

Should write to / sms the FT and ask for permission for your kid to leave early so you can bring him to the open houses. Definitely important for kid & parent to get a feel of the JCs - earlier in the year better, so that he can decide early.

        Thanks, CatMoon!
My DS school very funny, only arrange them for Poly openhouse but did not arrange for JC openhouse, but his FT recommended my son to go JC. :scratchhead:

          Hardly surprising.
Difference between JC and sec school, besides the workload, is very minimal. Poly, on the other hand, is worlds apart from sec school. Better to let them know what they are getting into.

Just to check are your DC school started to load them with test papers practice or the engine is still warming up only?

It's not really necessary to attend this year's JC Open Houses if your child is taking O levels this year. You won't miss out on anything.

More importantly is to ask your DS to work hard for his O levels n then attend OH next year when his results are out.

Our education system is constantly changing so who knows what changes will take place next year.

                  😄

We did not go for the open house.
My DS FT did not agree and mentioned we can attend the open house next yr since O level result only out in Jan.
