How is the nett L1R5 calculated?
My DD got L1R5 of 6
English:A1
Chinese: A1
Combined Humanities: A1
A Maths : A1
Maths : A1
Geography: A1
Physics: A1
Chemistry: A2
Higher Chinese: B3
CCA Bonus Pts :2
So the nett L1R5 is 6-2(CCA pts)-2(HCL) =2???
DD thinking of RI, VJC and HCI among her choice. Any chance for RI with nett L1R5? -
Hi zbear,
yes, nett L1R5 is 3 points. The whole batch of girls seems fascinated by ACSI. She find IB interesting. Now, with this result, i am thinking RI is nearer to home, and what a waste not to choose RI since this was her ideal secondary school RGS when she was in primary 5, and then switched her interest to SCGS when she was in primary 6. No concrete decision on whether taking sciences or art/humanities. -
Hi kingal,
I believe your DD secure nett L1R5 of 2 points. -

ACSI IB COP is 5 so she won't have a problem getting in.
I think the final decision has to come from her as she will be the one who is going to study. As parents, we can only advise. If we force n they become unhappy later, they may turn around n blame us.
Perhaps both of you attend their Open Houses n get the feel of the environment, programme n culture? -

No need. She can throw back the subject to the school. But I think some JCs offer Bicultural Programmes. Read through the JAE booklet to find out what courses each JC offer n you can get a better idea. -
it has been a while since I last started this thread.
Nice to see this thread still around.
I lost my password but finally managed to login after trying a few permutations. Hahaha -
Hi everyone,
my daughter scored 8 raw 6 nett (2 bonus points from her CCA).
English A1
Chinese A1
Full Humanities (Literature) A1
Combined Humanities (History and SS) A1
E math A2
A math A2
Chemistry A2
Considering ACJC and VJC for their Humanities scholarship programme that my daughter is interested in…
Torn between both as I have heard that VJC’s school culture is good and students are polite, kind, hardworking…but distance-wise is not that near as ACJC. Direct bus to VJC… Heard that ACJC’s HP isn’t as good and they have a ‘party’ culture. But we stay relatively near ACJC…
Any advice is greatly appreciated… -
will the COP for JCs this year be the same, increase or decrease as compared to last year ?
Thanks
