Aiya it doesn't really matter also. Basically the school will sort the kids into HA n MA classes based on results on a certain formula. And because of that S formula, there will not be a best HA class or a best MA class. All the kids evenly distributed based on p2 results so no need to stress over why my kid is in a lousy class or why your kid is in the best class etc.

The school will also tweak it such that your kid isn't all alone from their P2 class, so confirmed will have at least one prev classmate with them. So relax, trust the school n enjoy the p2 journey!

Maybe it's more for the teachers to be able to teach at a more sustainable speed rather than slowing down/ speeding up for certain students.

Competition and stress level shoot up. Average 1 HA class (P3) will have 16 top 5 kids from P2, on top of best subjects recipients.

No doubt some kids are competitive by nature, but most of
the times, it’s the parents giving such stress to the children.

I think more likely teachers don't have to do too much teaching for the HA classes...teachers more relaxed, kids and parents can go figure themselves out :siam:

Last year NYPS broke all records for PSLE. A big part of it was due to the hard work of its staff and volunteer parents coming together as one to support the P6 students academically, emotionally and logistically.

The school made a few tweaks in its programmes to aid as many students as possible to meet their potential for the PSLE exams. In fact, many teachers (GE, Meta, HA, MA) and parent volunteers stayed back after sch to support the kids during their preparations for PSLE.

Though there's no guarantee that the school will hit the same heights this year (T-score invariably depends on the difficulty of the papers), let's give credit when credit is due.

To say the teachers of HA class not having to teach much is really a great transgression and giving a slap to the teachers for teaching their kids. Ungrateful parents, to say the least
