All About A Levels
-
Hi guys, I just received my o level result and much to my disappointment,I didn’t scored what I expected myself to score .I got a C6 for my English,A2 for my Combined Humanities,E math,A math, Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Chinese Language(I have been feeling very emo for scoring 7 A2 for the past few days) and a B3 for my higher Chinese Language .I was actually feeling confident of scoring at least a B3 for my English, and A1 for the subjected that i scored A2…I got a nett 9.Now the problem is that I want to get into TJC which is very near my home and I might not get into it.So what are the chances I might get in through appeal since I scored so many A2(sighhh) .

1. Don't bother about reviewing. I've rarely (never) seen a result overturned. Still, your choice, if it makes you feel better.Hi there,
i just got my O Level results and i am hoping to pursue my next phase of education in a jc. My l1r4 is 11 and my l1r5 is 17. I got 4 A2s for science, a/e math and malay. And a b3 for english. However, the reason behind my l1r5 grade is due to my humanities, which i got a c6 for. This is highly shocking as i got an a2 for humans in prelims and i am not weak at the subject. Then again, i hope to get into a decent jc such as serangoon and i am going to appeal for a review of my humans papers. What is your advice on appealing on a review of a subject and which jc should i go to? Thanks for your time and understanding
2. Any JC is decent. With 17 points, your options are limited (probably 2, or max 3). Hence, which JC is a meaningless discussion. Just focus on getting into one that you have cleared the COP. -

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how many A2s you score. Your chance = 0.
MOE has made it clear that if you do not meet the COP of the JC, your appeal will not be accepted. -
Very truthful views shared & i "liked"

From what I have seen so far, a lot of students didn’t do well in English. Those who consistently get good grades in school exams see a drop in their grade for O levels.
I wonder why. -
In my opinion, I don’t think it’s safe to do this because NYJC is getting very popular n your DD COP is 1 point below NYJC COP.
I think AJC is just as good as NYJC.
For me, I rather put AJC as 1st choice as I will stand a better chance. -

Hi all ,
My daughter's results are as follows:
My girl's O level results are as follows:
English: A1
Chinese: A1
Combined Humanities: A1
A Maths : A1
Further Maths : A1
Geography: A1
Chemistry: A2
Biology: A2
Higher Chinese: A2
L1R5 nett : 2
She is deciding between VJ and RI but is still unsure of which jc to go to.
She's considering taking the hybrid combination : geography, chemistry, econs and math.
Do both jcs offer 4H2 once she enters or is it only offered after J1?
Do you have any advice ?
All advice is greatly appreciated
Did you attend the OH yesterday? That will give you a better feel of both schools' environment and culture.
She stands a very good chance of getting into RI n yes both JCs offer 4H2. They will select their combi after they settle in. -
Pardon my ignorance. Isn’t the JC/poly posting is similar to the Secondary 1 posting, ie. all students are ranked by their T-score and then the posting is by working on a student’s choices first then move on to the 2nd student etc etc.

sometime they missed a key / connecting word, and resulting in an out of point answer, and they thought they did well
it happens, unfortunately at the real, not prelim, papers -
Hi parent /students,
