      Mathsparks,

you can also try taking Glucosamine 750+Chondroitin 600 from GNC. i had had kneecap pain before, so painful that i can’t go up and down the stairs - especially going down the stairs! Then someone recommended me this and i took for a month. and i’ve been very comfortable since. I recommeneded it to my hb and my FIL when they were complaining about the pain, both tried and they have not complained about it since. But this supplement is cheaper to get from the website.

        :thankyou: ITSI for the suggestions.

bigd, is tgc available at watson?

pokemon, hv you tried restricting yr knee movement by using a knee brace? I used it for a couple of hours, went to bed, woke up next morning, the popping sound's still there, but at least it's bearable..and I've put off the doc's visit. Will try the tgc cream first.
i hv never uses a knee brace. So far whenever i feel slight pain, i will revert to my exercise for 2 days then my knees are as good as new.

How about trying chiropractor. Besides spinal pain they also deal with other joints ache.

The evidence for Chodroitin and Glucosamine is pretty marginal. Although I am Mr Sceptic, I do find chiropractice to be useful for joint pains. Don't ask me how it works (I close 2 eyes here wrt levels of evidence), but I had a chronic foot and knee pain from running and my chiro solved it in 10 minutes!

I recently found that after sitting down for sometime, when I get up, I cannot walk properly. My legs can’t seem to take the normal stride and I have to drag my leg which tends to be too straight (if you know what I mean). After a while, I will be ok and can walk… It’s like the engine needs warming up. Anyone have similar problems? What are the possible solutions? TIA.

:thankyou: all for the suggestions. I'm well enough to resume my weekly hike. Not so serious, so giving the chiro or osteop a miss; taking too many supplements so I'm just gonna try the TGC cream to see if it helps.

                Hi all,

my mom is having horrible time with the painful knees and it was become so painful that she cannot even walk now 😞

I was checking the GNC triflex which have been recommended here but I have 1 question bout it, which is the good they have bone and joint one also.. pls suggest!!!!!!! :?: doctor adviced for surgery but she doesnt wanna go thru it
hi, my mum has just gone thru a few injections to insert some kind of lubricant or gel at the knee joint. She can walk better now with not much pain. But the whole treatment procedures are quite painful according to my mum. This doctor is pretty famous in doing this treatment ..if your mum is keen to do this treatment, I will check with my sister for the doctor contact. 😄

from what you have mentioned, it seems that your mum’s case is pretty serious liao…so I don’t think supplement can work. My mum’s also have painful knee cap for the past few years. It got worst and worst till she can hardly walk. We also did not send her for operation as heard it will not last…She had tried acupuncture also but no use … So hope with this injection treatment it will make her walk better with less pain…
