Thx for advice! I was quite daunted by the application form actually. Knowing the rate of success, I’ll probably not give it a try.

How about SNGPS & SCGPS? Anyone got accepted as PV for P1 2011 already thanks

For St Nich Girls, they may only accept PV who stay within 1km. even though there will be balloting in 2B within 1km. They usually advise those >1km not to waste their time. This school belongs to the super hot category.

For S’pore Chinese Girls, they don’t need any or take in new PV at all since they have enough full time PV from the existing P1-P6 students. The only way to get in is through RC member route.

          Thanks KSP

Anyone know why is SNGS so hot? Its results are not super fantastic at all? Other than straight through to the Sec school, what are the other factors making it so hot? I see the same thing for PLMGS and MGS and prob the CHIJ families but they are not as hot as SNGS

            St Nich Girls:

            1. All Girls School
            2. CHIJ family
            3. Affiliated to Sec Sch
            4. Non-Affiliation PSLE cut-off 250
            5. Affiliation PSLE cut-off 221 (not so stressful)
            6. Top GCE "O" Level result in 2008
            7. First 6 yrs (Pri) can relax, next 4 yrs (Sec) then work harder

Parents nowadays plan much earlier for their kids than what our parents did for us. If there is a kindergarten affiliated to St Nich Girls Pri, I think parents are willing to queue for weeks for a place.

              AgnesMM:
And just to add, there are many advantages doing PV in the school. Not only do we get to know many staffs there, we also learn about the process and platform in the school.

We have so far clock more than 80 hours in the school and will continue with the effort (either / both hubby and/or myself dependent on our availability as we may be out of the country on biz trip).

Encourage those keen in the school to do PV - at least you get to see if the environment and the school system is one that you would want your kiddo to go with.

              Best of luck 🙏
              *salute*

                ha ha …

original objective = just to get our girl into the school.

However after some months of PV work (even after hitting the 40 hours), we continue with the effort partly in appreciation to the school for allowing us to do PV last minute, and also the fact that we actually learnt alot during those hours in the school.

                    You should register now.

For some super hot schools, their PV registration already closed. I think most successful PV are clocking their hours now.

The MOE website states that all PV must start at least 1 yr before the year of registration. For your case, you must start before Jun 09 and clock in at least 40hrs (some schools more) before Jun 10. Your child P1 registration should start Jun/Jul 10.

                    Good luck.
From speaking to the principal, it is very tough to get into Nan Hua. Accoring to her, there are easily more than 200 applicants for PV, but she would choose less than 10%. Reason : Dun wan to disappoint parents who put in effort. I guess she can control the no. of PV, but she cant control the no of grassroot volunteer who apply to her school. She and the other teachers still feel bad for the last batch of parents who have put in great effort for the school and still cant get in.

yes, ,Fr Principal I also heard the same way about less than 10% PV this yrs . Nan hua pri they would choose ( about 20 PV ), last yrs The number of PV in Nan Hua Pri is 36 PV . :celebrate:
My advise to those want to PV at NHPS, move to within 2km from the school. Based on past 2B result those >2km are very risky.

36 is the total applicants in last year 2B including PV+RC members. They have not included the RC when they said they have 20 PV for this year. So the final 2B applicants could be more than just 20.

A friend of mine PV at NHPS have to ballot in 2B last year and fortunately got in. In the process they saw a triplet got in before their child. That mean 3 seats were taken just for that one draw. Well, it was something that they won't want to go through again.
