It cannot be counted as main CCA for this year’s Sec 1 boys. You would need to have a main CCA before you can choose international chess as second CCA. For sec 2-4 boys in international chess, it would still be considered a main CCA for them.

So the change was only effected from this year or it has always been the case?
Notwithstanding that, the Sec 1 boys will need to have a main CCA for this year, so come Sec 2, how would they be able to choose international chess as main CCA unless they are allowed to 'drop' the CCA from this year? Just wondering :scratchhead: -
Hi,
Can I check what is the password for parent to logging into the ISP? Thanks. -
Does anyone know if Chinese orchestra and St. John require lots of time from the kids?

Need to get some advice from parents of sec 2 & above…
Is IS project a compulsory project?
If the child is unable to form a grp with anyone, would he be allowed to do the project on his own (tho I think it’s a bit tedious cos of the scope, but nothing is impossible)?
If the school expects the IS project to be done in grp, would the teacher slot the child into any existing grp that has not hit the max of 4?
DS was enjoying too much of his school life in HCI and did not bother to go ard forming grps with his classmates… when he realized that he has to, it was too late… his classmates had all found members and formed the grp of 4, so he’s left with no classmates to collaborate… and since he only has 1 ex-schoolmate in HCI, but already formed grp in another consortium, he has no other friends that he know to collaborate.
Appreciate advice from the parents of the seniors, so that we can know how to proceed with this. thanks. -

Yes, IS is compulsory. (It's calculated in the Mean Subject Grade).Need to get some advice from parents of sec 2 & above..

It will be good to form a group, given that it is his first year doing IS. For this, he should approach his form teacher for some advice (or maybe to check if other classes have students who are also alone). Students usually do not do it alone but if so, it usually happens when he is in Upper Secondary. -

Yes agreed that it is not advisable for him to do IS Project solo especially in lower sec. Besides letting his form teacher know, maybe he can try approaching those with 3 members and ask whether he can join their group? Coz 5 members group is not recommended. He can also try asking his CCA schoolmates.

[/quote]Unfortunately, cos there is no boundary of members for IS project, all the grps that the classmates are in are already full.. And since he din get in via DSA, his CCA has not been firmed.. So no one for him to approach for that route ..
