You are welcome. How's everything on your side, Fifi? -

Janet...haiz I really don't know how all will turn out. DS's work is not great. Actually base on last year, I would say terrible. Moving onto secondary school it's not so simple anymore...time management, friends, school activities, CCA....all lumped together like a time bomb.fifiyeo:

Like you I also have my hands tied this year with no2. -

supplementary lessons and CCA end late, studying for common tests and getting homework done, it's madness...planning to use DPA, so every test/exam result is crucial.

Actually just heard DPA recently. Also thought of giving it a try. I think it won't be easy too. And really also no clue what to expect for DPA. :?

The details can be found here:
https://dpa.polytechnic.edu.sg/dpaStudIns/menu.jsp
While current school results are important, DPA selection also comprises interview to gauge applicants' interest in the particular course of study. Past projects (design work, drawings, etc) or personal interests (gamer, pets, etc) would be useful for some courses. -
hi floppy,
i’ve bookmarked the DPA website. thanks. -

Does your son have an idea what he wants to do in life? If he's uncertain at this point, then going the A level route might be a better option. Don't DPA for DPA sake as the student might regret if he/she does not know what he wants. He might end up disliking the course he applied for.
For students who DPA, they have a better sense of what they want to pursue. Some of my kids' friends have successfully DPA-ed to gerontology studies, animation, early childhood ed, psychology. Students not only must have decent results. They must also show interest in the course they are applying for and have good CCA records.
