My boy just reached home..

@ Just4Fun.. You mixed up RI thread with CNY Fixed Deposits Promo thread, issit ? My place doesn't offer attractive interest rates. No wonder GG is still not at my door. Or has she lost her way? :scared:

        nicdavi:

Forming a RI sec 2 (2016) math tuition group, looking for a few group mates.

Hi, my boy is currently RI sec 1, going to Sec 2 next year. He is currently doing a 1:1 tuition with his math tutor.

The tutor is quite good and able to explain clearly the concepts. He has taught many IP school students including those from RI. He knows the syllabus well and gives worksheets from various IP schools. But his schedule is very tight and is not able to teach 1:1 when school open. So I would like to look for a few RI students from the same level to form a small group. I am staying near Bartley area which is 3 MRT stations away from RI. The tutor is able to travel to my house. Interested parents, please contact me at 94590289 Joyce.

Additional info on the tutor: The tutor holds a master degree from NUS and has graduated as the top student of his faculty. There were many examples of students’ improvements on his website http://www.maximath.sg
We have found two RI students, welcome one more :rahrah:

And I heard from the tutor he has also taught three students from RI Euler Program (also Sec 2 this year)!

We have to learn to slowly let go. Set the rules of engagement for our DC..

As much as we love DCs, we must also give them space to grow and take responsibilities...Dinner is mandatory unless with permission to miss.. :imanangel:

Well, my daughter just got home (8pm). She said that another girl had to leave after dinner and they left together. Others were going to stay on though. Well, different families, different rules. She seems to have had a good day.

My nephew who is Yr 6 now, told me that he and classmates enjoyed thoroughly last year. It fostered good bonding among them... just like having Youth Fellowship. Have faith !

I don't doubt that it's fun etc. My daughter is enjoying herself immensely too. I guess my husband and I are old-fashioned and conservative - we don't like our 16yo girl to be hanging out at nights, especially when it's just \"bonding\", not a properly organised and supervised school event.

My dd is enjoying . She said the shoes acts as catapult in the war game is so fun. I wonder why now then she knows. I played this kind of game in my other orientation.

DS came home last nite with a painted face, as the boys'/gals' faces were 'decorated' with their House colours. DS said they went for dinner at a nearby shopping mall and people looked at them with amusement.. πŸ˜†

The 'paint' on DS' face was so thick that it was impossible to cleanse it off completely. I tried using my makeup remover to wipe the 'paint' off DS' face, but a tinge of pink still remained on his face (rosy checks  ) when he went to school this morning.

I gave my daughter one of my makeup remover wipes and it seemed to get rid of it pretty well. She came home on the MRT like that!

The boys/gals weren't shy at all to be on the MRT/buses with painted faces. I think they looked really cool.. :imcool:

Today is the last day of Year-5 Orientation. DS packed clothes to change for some events (performances?) this evening. He looked a little tired when he left for school this morning. I asked him if he was tired, he said \"Ya, socializing is very tiring\". Told him DATING is even MORE TIRING. Hope he got my 'message'..

@ MrsKS.. I don't have baby oil at home. DS used my makeup remover, which is actually a mild cleansing milk coz I don't put on thick makeup.
